Washington City Paper has described David Schulman's music as “spontaneous and completely unique.” Playing his Zeta electric violin through a loop station, David creates layers of strings that shimmer and sway over Latin jazz grooves. He's also adept at romantic classical favorites, and gypsy tunes played solo on acoustic violin. Music from his late 2012 album “Quiet Life Motel” has aired nationally on NPR's Weekend Edition. The album has also been featured nationally on APM's "The Story," and in DC on “The Latin Flavor: Classic Edition” with Jim Byers. He's a regular at the DC Jazz Festival, and recent commissions include work to compose and perform original dance scores for PearsonWidrig Dance Theater, Uprooted Dance, and Stephanie Miracle.

David has performed at the Phillips Collection, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, US Senate Offices, Capitol Pecha Kucha, and the Embassy of Finland. Currently Musician-in-Residence of the internationally regarded DC-based dance company Dance Exchange, David is available for corporate events, dances, house parties and concerts, weddings, receptions, memorial services, fundraisers, dinners, and other events.
