Edgar Gabriel -Solo Violinist /Duos/ Small Band

I am a classical violinist, jazz violinist and fiddler. I have over 25 years of professional experience performing weddings, private and corporate parties, recording sessions, musical theater, classical and jazz concerts. I have performed extensively with Cirque du Soleil's Mystere in Las Vegas and Dralion on tour. As a musical contractor I have provided music for Mayor Richard M. Daley, President Bill Clinton and Senator Patrick Fitzgerald. I can be heard on many recordings such as the Plain White T's "Big Bad World" and Cheap Trick's "Special One".


I enjoy performing for weddings and parties as a solo strolling violinist, with a pianist, guitarist, cellist, accordion as a duo or with larger classical and jazz ensembles. My string quartet has an extensive repertoire and can play classical, jazz, rock and popular music. My group StringFusion performs many different genres of jazz (Gypsy, Fusion, Latin, Swing) and classic rock. We can also become a very exciting dance band and play favorites for all of your guests. I enjoy the process of working with couples to help them select the perfect music for their wedding ceremonies. It is my goal to provide the perfect musical atmosphere for every event that sets the tone for a great party.

I have several of my own Cd's available at iTunes, most notable "Not Radio Material" by Edgar Gabriel's StringFusion and "Storming the Citadel" by Rachel Barton Pine's String Trio Stringendo where I am a member. This is a collection of heavy-metal and classic rock arrangements for string trio.

I hold an undergraduate degree in music from Northern Illinois University and a Masters in Music from DePaul University.
