RECENT TESTIMONIALS: "Where do we begin, to tell the story of how great a band can be? Starting at the beginning of the alphabet, let's go with AWESOME! From start to finish. . . from our first contact to the final chord of the evening. . . Word Of Mouth rocked in every way. The professionalism and talent from Dave and all the band members is probably unparalleled in the world of wedding bands. From our first meeting where Dave immediately knew exactly what kind of affair we were trying to put on, through the planning process where he created a timeline that laid out a perfect "script" for the event, to the flawlessly classy execution of that plan, we knew that Dave and the band had everything well in hand and we never had to worry about "what's next." With all our solos, special presentations and the Flash Mob, this was particularly important and I don't think it all would have played out as effectively as it did in less capable hands. As to the music — Word Of Mouth has it all! There wasn't a single demographic group at the wedding who didn't rave about the band — the song choices, the performances and just the pro quality of the sound that was laid down during the evening. I wouldn't be surprised if the front desk got calls from guests in the rooms below the ballroom complaining when the band stopped! I can only add how appropriate the music was during the ceremony and how wickedly cool and swingin' the jazz band was during cocktail hour. So, it probably goes without saying that we would whole-heartedly recommend Word Of Mouth to anybody for any occasion. We can't wait until we have the chance to hire them again ourselves. On a scale of 1 to 10, Word Of Mouth is a solid 11!" Art & Bari Verity (Sept. 2011)

"We thought you guys were awesome – the crowd LOVED you! Some of your songs sounded exactly like the original artist. You guys were great to work with – everything I look for in a vendor, from responsive (I think you called me back within 20 minutes of my first call), to flexible (learning our songs and working with our stage set up) to friendly and professional. I was looking all over for the perfect band and it's very hard to stay within a budget if you want live music. However, I was so happy to find your group not only affordable, but also top notch. The performance was amazing. Everyone was saying that it was the most fun they'd ever had at a wedding, and let's be honest, it was all about the music! People who I didn't know danced were pulling out moves left and right. It was also great how you let our flower girl sing – she was THRILLED. All in all, we had a wonderful reception! I've already given out your contact info to people begging to know who the band was. Thanks again!!" - Leslie & Jordan Lopez (July 2010)

"I was trying to think of the best way to express my thoughts on Word of Mouth…and the only word I can think of is 'PERFECT'. You have been PHENOMENAL since day 1. So flexible, accomodating, thoughtful, thorough, and that was just our pre-wedding experience. Your band truly made the wedding a hit with all our family and friends. Just like I read in the other reviews on your website, we keep getting comments and feedback from our guests on how great you guys were! From the musicians, to the singers, the announcements – everything was off-the-charts exciting yet still professional. We truly appreciate all the effort you put into our day – and I will be referring you to EVERYONE!" - Katherine & Michael Rosenberg (Feb. 2010)

"Angela and I just wanted to thank you for the fantastic job Word of Mouth did playing our reception! You are a consummate professional and WOM is an amazing band. We had very high expectations for our wedding music and you delivered, and even exceeded, all of them. From providing the perfect dinner ambiance with classic jazz to rocking through hits from the 50s on up to the present day to absolutely nailing our special song requests, there were no bases you didn't cover. We were especially grateful for your attention to detail in helping us organize the timeline for our dance sets and even for the reception itself. Likewise you went that extra mile with making our experience a personal one. For instance, at our very first meeting, I spoke about what a huge Springsteen fan I was. Flash ahead several months to our reception and WOM not only played the Springsteen song we requested ("Out in the Street"), but you surprised us with "Badlands" and played both songs back to back and you even let me do the "count in" (every Springsteen fan's dream)! No one made you do this–it was a bonus, your gift to us on our wedding day! In short, our reception, and its soundtrack, was nothing short of spectacular. As our MC, you handled everything; Angela and I had no worries and we could just have fun and dance the night away. We will gladly recommend you to everyone we know–simply because we know we will be doing them, and their event, a huge favor!" - Larry & Angela Caldwell (Sept. 2009)

"Dear WOM, A simple email will not give justice to how much WOM added to our day. Right from my first contact with you, you have been brilliant. When both Lara and I met with you, you were professional yet relaxed and you really did put us at ease about not only the music at the wedding but also how the day would run. Taking that into consideration it was an easy decision to choose you. Once that decision was made, you were absolutely fantastic to work with. Always understanding, flexible and professional, not only with us but also with Trisha and Lorri at the California Yacht Club. I'm sure as a client we were reasonably demanding asking for you to learn new songs, but you were more than happy to do so and those specific performances were fantastic. So a quick run through of the reception…Having you as the MC was brilliant, it was a fantastic way to be introduced and the first dance was better than we could have expected. The music during the meal was spot on. When you started the first set the dance floor flooded……and it only got more and more busy. The playlist was perfect and you had something for everyone. Not only did WOM learn the new songs but you were good enough to do 2 songs with different guests singing. By this point the evening was beyond rocking! The tent resembled a night club more than a reception at a wedding and then somehow WOM stepped it up another level. Inviting me onto the stage to sing 3 songs was brilliant fun. Having Lara's cousin play Viva La Vida was so cool, certainly made up for my lack of singing talent! Putting it simply, we could not have asked for more from a band, we are so happy that we choose WOM. Not only was the music brilliant but everything about the lead up and the performance was professional and fun. As I say an email can't do WOM justice, so many of our guests complimented us on the band and we will certainly be recommending you to anyone and everyone!!" - Tim & Lara Clarke (Aug. 2009)

Feedback

  • Word of Mouth were fabulous at Seven Oaks Country Club's 2008 New Year's Party! At a club where our members have no hesitation in stating their opinion, I was pleased by all the compliments I got regarding their talent and the variety of music they performed. Their professionalism was top-notch - Dave Smith made it very easy to organize the evening's timeline and all the other little things to make an event a success. I will definitely hire them again! -Eryn Urban Office Manager/Event Coordinator Seven Oaks Country Club -- Eryn U, Bakersfield, CA, 12/31/2008
