DESCRIPTION:
"Feel-good music" "Awesome" "Blown away!" Unlike any other band in the world, King Kukulele & The Friki Tikis keep the audience involved. Having played in Japan, England, Italy, Ireland, France, Holland, and the U.S. this band knows how to please a crowd. What makes this band unique is their ability to create personalized songs!! It's one thing to do a request, but when that request is to roast the CEO, CFO, and VP of a company with various improvised songs for an entire hour, there is only one band that can fulfill that request! It's all about fun as the Hawaiian Luau and Tiki craze takes over. The band plays exotic instruments like the ukulele, Hawaiian lap steel guitar, and the vibrophone with drums and bass in the rhythm section. The songs are from the 1940's Hapa Haole Hawaiian tradition like "Little Grass Shack" and "The Princess Pupule" and are complimented with original songs, novelty comic songs, and more moody love songs as well as improvised and personalized tunes. This audience interaction is perfect for children and kids are always welcome to get involved. For more sophisticated events the band has played background music during cocktail hour. If you're interested in a full scale Luau with dancers we can provide Hawaiian, Tahitian, Samoan, and fire knife dancers. King Kukulele & The Friki Tikis recorded their second CD in London Live At Trader Vic's as part of the annual London Luau.
