Description
Need versatility? You have come to the right place! In full force After Hours Band is an 8-piece dancing machine, churning out one dance song after another to keep everyone dancing all night long. We also perform as a 3 piece jazz trio (piano, sax and bass) if you need softer music for dinner or cocktail hour, or for background music at a party. Need just piano, or just piano and bass? No problem. And we can do combinations of all of these at the same event. Our client feedback says it all: the end result is that every customer is thrilled with what they got with us!
We are THE most competitively priced 8-piece 5-star band on Gigmasters. This means you will not find a 8-piece band of our caliber in the price range we offer. You can request a bid for your event from us without any obligation on your part whatsoever and in our response Gigmasters will give you our website. Our website is maintained by the band and is always completely up to date. We also have a studio DVD demo and an audio CD demo for those who prefer those formats. Just ask and we'll send them right out to you!
We have been playing weddings, parties and corporate events for the past 8 years. Swing, Motown, Disco, Rock, Soul. Its a party platter for your feet! All of our band members are seasoned and professional in our approach to music. This means that we are dependable, responsive and reliable, in addition to being great musicians!
We are also a self-managed band, which means that all details regarding your event will be discussed DIRECTLY with one of our band members, either Alan or Terry. This means that you don't have to worry about communication problems, pronunciations of your wedding party members' names or any other misunderstandings common to bands who use a manager. We handle all of the details ourselves, and we pride ourselves on the results!
For all of our full-band shows we hire professional sound engineers to provide and run a PA for us at no additional charge to you. This means that you get top-notch audio at the volume level of your choice. We understand that many of our events are attended by the very young and the very old, and we cater our sound to our entire audience!
We offer 2 or 3 sets of dance music, depending on how long your event is, and the cocktail hour jazz set.
As mentioned before, we are also available for smaller ensemble gigs. If you want a 2, 3, 4 or 5 piece band to play some jazz standards for an hour or two at your event, let us know. "No job too big or too small."
Please see our website for additional professional video, audio samples and more about us. As stated earlier, you may request a bid from us for your event (by requesting a bid there is no obligation whatsoever on your part to book us), and in our response you'll get our web address. Thanks and we look forward to providing a great show for you!

Feedback
- They were great to work with from designing the event to performing! They were flexible, talented and fun. There was another party in the hotel that ended up coming up to dance with us because their band was "boring"
Many many thanks for making a historic day a ton of fun!
Julie, Susan, Mark and all -- Julie J, Alexandria, VA, 1/20/2009
- I cannot say enough great things about After Hours Band!!! All of our guests, from age 2 to 86 absolutely loved them! They are very talented, both vocally and instrumentally. They took great care in making sure our wedding was special and truly enjoyable. They are a fantastic group and I would recommend them to absolutely everyone. Many of my friends have used bands that cost over 5 times the cost, and After Hours Band was just as good, if not better. -- Michelle J, Millwood, VA, 9/27/2008
- We can't say enough about how great our experience was with The After Hours Band! They totally MADE our party! Everyone complimented us on our band choice and wouldn't let them stop playing. Friends who don't usually dance were up dancing. We kept them later than planned and still didn't want them to leave! They were very professional from the initial contact all the way through until we said our farewells at the end of the party. We can't wait for another opportunity to hire them & party on! Thanks again to the whole gang! -- Kaja F, Barnesville, MD, 3/22/2008
- Alan & the rest of After Hours were a pleasure to work with. Everyone who attended our wedding had a great time & commented on how much fun the band was to listen & dance to.
They sound great!! -- Sam T, York, PA, 10/4/2008
- After Hours performed for our wedding reception last night at the Old Town Hilton. They rocked. They blew the roof off. We were getting comments from guests all of last night and I was still hearing gushing reviews at brunch this morning. Things like "These guys kick #$%" and "These guys are amazing". The dance floor was packed pretty much the entire night, which I have never seen at a wedding. They played great new stuff and wonderful old stuff. They learned a couple of tunes for us ("Don't Stop Believing" was phenomenal) which rocked. The vocalists are exceptional and the band great. Alan and Terri were wonderful to work with. Book these guys! They go to 11! -- Dave M, Alexandria, VA, 1/5/2008
- We really enjoyed having the band. Alan was very accommodating and went out of his way to make sure that everything was done exactly the way we wanted and was able to work around last minute changes in the schedule.
They really made our wedding feel like a party which is exactly what we wanted. The band did a great job playing the songs in their own terrific style.
The music was great, and the sets were well planned; even my 87 year old grandmother got out on the floor for a few songs.
I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a fun band that really gets the crowd going, especially if you have guests that love good music and love to dance -- Kimberly F, Berkeley Springs, WV, 11/3/2007
- We hired the After Hours Band for our Navy's Multi-Cultural event at the Washington Navy Yard, and was very pleased with their performance.
From our first initial contact with the After Hours Band, to their great singing, we know that we made a good selection.
Thanks After Hours Band! -- Idrelia B, Washington, DC, 6/26/2008
- Wow, what a party! In the last 8 years that I've been going to the anual Christmas party's my boss puts on this one was by far the best. Everyone was dancing and having a good time. Everytime a new song started I'd here ooooh lets go dance I love this song! Thanks guys, you really made our party fanTAStic! See you all again next year. Sincerely,
Kim
from the Dec. 1st, 07 party -- Kim R, Alexandria, VA, 12/1/2007
- After Hours is the best band that you've never heard of! They are all fantastic musicians who happen to have "normal" day jobs, so I don't think that they play too many gigs. But when they do, watch out! They had everybody dancing for 3 great sets: one blues/rock, one Motown, and one Disco/Dance stuff. It was so much fun! They have great energy that gets us out of our seats and keeps us going for hours. Our crowd ranged from late twenties to early sixties, and everybody left happy. I would recommend them for weddings, parties, and any occasion where you want people to have fun. I will definitely hire them again! -- Lynn J, Columbia, MD, 9/21/2007
- The After Hours Band is great! They are such talented musicians, and the vocals are fantastic. Everybody danced pretty much every dance. I just wish they had an e-mail service to alert us to where they play on weekends...
thanks!!
Lynn -- Lynn J, Rockville, MD, 1/26/2008
- It could not have ben better. I intend to use them again for other events soon.
I highly recommend them! -- Jon B, Washington, DC, 11/16/2007
