Designated Driver Variety Singer from Woodland Hills, CA

I am a successful keyboard player and vocalist who has been performing in California and Colorado for several years. My act features popular music from jazz to classic rock and everything in between. Some of my best material includes "Brown Eyed Girl," "Crocodile Rock," "Old Time Rock and Roll," and other enduring favorites that are sure to keep crowds on their feet and most importantly, drive revenue for venue owners. When people hear music, they are looking to escape their daily lives for a while. Therefore, it's my job to make them feel at home and get them to actively participate with me during my shows. Being sensitive to the moods of patrons and club owners is paramount in my mind. That is why I either employ drummers who share this opinion or play by myself. I get asked back because I keep the volume at a level where people can hear me, but where they can also talk amongst themselves without screaming. It is very much appreciated by everyone present. My philosophy in music and in life is that no matter how much one knows, there is always something one does not know. That is why my shows are fresh and new every time. I have studied guitar and saxophone under Gary Bell, who is nationally known for working with acts like Ray Charles, Fatts Domino, and Sam Cook. He instilled a work ethic in me that I live by to this day. Currently, I am working with Frank Wilson, a drummer who played with Jimmy Smith and who has a smooth quiet style that is ideal for what I wish to accomplish. Frank's facility with musical genres continues to validate my belief in his masterful percussive skill. I am totally blind. Therefore, the Designated Driver brand has an ironic twist that provides a healthy dose of humor throughout the evening. I am currently developing a theme around that concept which I incorporate into my song material. I look forward to making people's lives more joyous with every note that comes forth from my fingers and my vocal cords. If I can put a smile on just one person's face, whether it is due to their increased joy at hearing me perform or to a struggling proprietor whose sales have increased, I have done what I set out to do.
