Shakedown is dedicated to ensuring your event is a success. We work closely with our clients, customizing the music to each client's needs, and managing the event entertainment to keep the energy level high and to ensure the night flows smoothly. Having worked with many event planners, brides and grooms, and wedding planners, we know what it takes. We are a dynamic band of talented musicians with decades of performing experience. Having played together in previous projects at great Austin venues such as the iconic Cedar Street Courtyard, Speakeasy and the Oasis, and at private events all over Texas, the core of the band launched "Shakedown" as a new project to capture the essence of what a great party band should be. Our 5-piece band includes one female and two male lead vocalists, that allow us to cover an impressive range of genres. We also perform as a 6-piece band with two female lead singers instead of one. Both line-ups can perform the same material -- think of the difference as Grande versus Venti, if you're a Starbucks fan. We specialize in the pop and rock and Motown dance hits of the 70s and 80s, from Michael Jackson to Joan Jett to Journey, and we frequently add to our already extensive list of country songs and current hits by such artists like Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Megan Trainor, Elle King and Daft Punk. For any event - corporate party, wedding reception, charity gala, or fraternity party, Shakedown will stop at nothing to bring you the best party ever. We can handle special song requests, such as first dance songs, father/daughter or mother/son dances (requests will be discussed during the planning of the event). We can also play softer cocktail hour music as needed during dinner or cocktail hours. We provide a state of the art PA system that, in addition to powering the band, can be used for announcements, toasts, and recorded music on breaks. Shakedown can take on the role of Master of Ceremony if needed to ensure smooth transitions of events in the evening. We also provide dance floor and stage lighting.
