Cream Brûlée is a band that performs the music of Cream, including the improvisation of the original & first power trio. We play the hits & songs Cream played live as they did in their extensive & creative improvisation. The guitarist playing Eric Clapton’s riffs, Rob Garland, grew up in England, worked in a diverse array of bands and later played hundreds of gigs at festivals and clubs across the U.S. with his band 'The Blue Monks,' opening for artists such as B.B. King, Booker T. and Chuck Berry.??He now lives in Los Angeles, where he continues to write and record his original music, ranging from jazz-fusion instrumentals to acoustic vocal songs, available to stream/download.??Rob regularly performs at clubs such as The Baked Potato, Alva’s Showroom and Trip, with his 'Eclectic Trio,' jazz-fusion band 'Catatonic' and (newly formed) Cream tribute band 'Cream Brûlée.' He has recorded sessions at notable studios such as Revolver, The Village Recorder and J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Studios.??Rob has been teaching guitar for 25+ years and has taught hundreds of private students across all ability levels and musical genres. He has taught group classes, open counseling, private lessons and masterclasses for Musicians Institute (G.I.T.) in Hollywood, CA, where he served on the faculty.??In 2023 Rob joined Sonora Guitar Intensive as a full-time guitar mentor.??He has been featured in U.K. and U.S. guitar magazines, and has created numerous instructional courses for TrueFire & JamPlay, including the best selling 'Chord Navigator: CAGED' series.??Rob has written books for Cherry Lane/Hal Leonard, been published in the TrueFire Journal 'Riff,' has a motivational eBook entitled 'Guitar Play!' and a Patreon site ‘The British Invasion.’ He is currently writing books for Fundamental Changes and is also a consultant for Blink Tech, a music education platform.??In 2018 Rob performed with legendary guitarist Steve Vai in Hollywood, CA.?Other musicians Rob has performed with include Jimmy Haslip (The Yellowjackets), Marco Minnemann (Joe Satriani), Gus Thornton (Albert King), Joel Taylor (Allan Holdsworth) and Tony Newton (Gary Moore).??Rob is endorsed by Bogner amps, Xotic guitars, Curt Mangan strings, ChickenPicks and Moody Leather straps and has given gear clinics for various companies at The NAMM Show.??Rob loves music and the guitar as much as he did when he was 14, possibly even more! He enjoys all genres but is "fascinated by the harmony of jazz combined with the energy and tone of rock."? Handling the job of drummer Ginger Baker, George’s inspiration for drumming and music started at a young age in many impressionistic ways. Privately studied, George has played in many local and working bands throughout high school. He studied music at The University of Bridgeport, Ct., earning a B.S. in Music Education. Making a living playing music started to become more a reality when he landed a gig with home town hero’s The Five Satins who had WNBC's number one voted rock and roll doo-wop hit of all time "In the Still of the Night". This enabled George to work the circuit in New York City where he met, performed and toured with other luminaries as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Spencer Davis, The Drifters, Joey Dee & The Starliters and many others. Jack Bruce’ bass & vocal lines are covered by Greg Lewis. Starting his musical training in classical piano at age 7, he started performing professionally at 11 playing piano and vocals with the Young Generations in Yuma, AZ where he grew up. Greg's talent led him as an opening act for ‘Cold Blood.’ After hearing Chris Squire from Yes in the mid 1970’s, he started learning Chris’ bass lines and Jon Anderson’s vocals after buying his first bass guitar in 1974, which led him playing in clubs, school dances, and special events. Greg had professional voice teachers helped him develop a 5 octave range. At El Camino Community College, he studied composition and jazz up to 2019. He moved to the Los Angeles area in 1978 and joined an original new wave band, ‘The Shake Shakes’, who had 2 DJ’s from KRLA radio station managing them. Greg’s skills recorded with them in the notable studio ‘Kitchen Sync’ in Hollywood. Greg added his Rickenbacker progressive bass style to new wave band, giving it a unique, melodic thrust. In 2007, Greg’s bass and vocals found the rock group Navasota Rio, an original band out of Houston, TX. In 2010, he performed with some of the members from Ike Turner Review & The Supremes. His talents supported a prog rock group Animation, an original band from Los Angeles from 2011 to 2020.
