DESCRIPTION:
The Saxmen offer the pleasing sound of saxes.When combined with a three piece digitally recorded rhythm section, delivered through a professional Bose sound system, the finished sound is that of a very realistic and professional five piece combo. Our libary consists of the great classic songs of the swing and Big Band era. Many songs were made famous by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, or sung by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, or Nate King Cole. The majority of our songs were arranged especially for the Saxmen by Dave Wheeler, an internationally recognized and accomplished arranger. Some arrangements call for the Saxmen Duet to play in a tight and in a well rehearsed presentation, whereas other arrangements allow for individual improvisations. The Saxmen's Bose Sound System also allows for total control of our volume. The delivered sound allows for easy conversation among the guests even if located directly in front of the combo. Our music is perfect to serve as background music during a cocktail hour, a dinner or a fundraiser. On other occasions, we have played for a small and intimate wedding receptions.........where space may be limited or just pleasant and unobtrusive music is preferred. The era of our music also compliments a parent's or grandparent's anniversary or birthday party. When additional entertainment is preferred we are very pleased to include a very talented vocalist who can also handle emcee annoucements. Several are featured during our audios.
Whereas The Saxmen may consist of only two instrumentalists, our finished sound is very full, enjoyable and will be presented with class. After listening to our song clips, we think you will agree that there is no other combo quite like The Saxmen. One interesting fact..........we (Leo and Vince) first began performing together during our high school days in the mid 50's. We were then apart for 37 years. Back together since 1999, we believe our music clearly shows we are enjoying our reunion. The Saxmen will be happy to pay the 5% gigmaster commission fee.
