Steelin’ Jazz most often performs as a quartet with the virtuoso jazz guitarist/pianist, Rob Block; on bass the bounce from Barbados, Belfield Small and drummer, Aras Biskis, . They have performed at the Taste of Chicago, numerous yacht clubs, Caribbean festivals in Chicago, St. Louis and Trinidad, the International Festival of Life, Pan Jazz in d'yard, The Trinidad Hilton, Queen’s Hall in Trinidad and many clubs and private events both in Trinidad and the Midwest. They have received rave reviews in both countries calling them brilliant, magical and extraordinaire. They have performed with calypso greats such as the Calypso King of the World, the Mighty Sparrow, Calypso Rose, the Original Defosto Himself as well as great jazz icons.. They have recorded 4 CDs Their repertoire is vast and includes all standard jazz tunes as well as reggae, calypso, latin, swing, pop and bossa nova. • Steelin" Jazz is a fabulous Steel Band which plays Carribean music but also many jazz standards in their distinctive, joyful style. We had them for an intimate gathering of friends at an afternoon barbecue and our next door neighbors loved them as much as we did, opening up all their windows to better hear them. The band's music was not too loud so that people could still chat with one another. They made the occasion a very special event.
