DESCRIPTION:
New HOTS Jazz Orchestra is a 12 piece 'Little Big Band' which recreates the 'hot dance' and swing tunes of the '20s,'30s, and '40s. HOTS always generates fun and excitement with it's ballroom, swing and Latin dance rhythms. HOTS repertoire includes vintage ragtime, Dixieland, popular dance tunes of the 'Jazz Age' (Charleston, Shimmy), and Classic Swing. HOTS performs professionally throughout Washington DC, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia for corporate parties, weddings, anniversaries, civic celebrations, wine festivals, and major cultural art celebrations. We stage our own dances at historic Forest Glen Ballroom in Silver Spring, Fairfax City's Old Town Hall, and Glen Echo's Spanish Ballroom. HOTS specializes in costumed theme parties. HOTS can do Mardis Gras, Roaring '20s, Cotton Club, WWII Hollywood Canteen, Tropical (Latin/Caribbean), French and Italian evenings. HOTS travels overseas during the summer. Our first trip was to Provence and the Cote d'Azur in July 1997. We visited Paris, Normandy and the Loire Valley in June 1999, and South Atlantic France in July 2002. We toured Northern Italy in July 2004. We were invited to play Napier, New Zealand's world famous Art Deco Festival in February 2001 and again in 2007.
