DESCRIPTION:
Flattop Tom and His Jump Cats are a versatile six to eight-piece band, depending on price, playing classic Big Band style swing, Blues, 40s and 50s Jump Blues, Boogie Woogie, and 40s and 50s Rhythm & Blues and oldies. The group basically plays anything from Benny Goodman and Louis Prima to Chuck Berry and Elvis, and has released three critically acclaimed CDs. Flattop Tom has played clubs such as The House of Blues, B.B King's and The Derby, L.A's hottest swing club, as well as corporate and private parties, and weddings. To watch video clips of live performances at the above mentioned clubs and elsewhere, visit Flattoptom Dot Com, where you can also listen to sound clips.Flattop Tom and His Jump Cats are a group of energetic, talented musicians dedicated to keeping traditional Swing and Blues alive. Besides being the band leader, Flattop Tom is a professional swing dancer who performed in the movie Swingers, and performs live dance exhibitions on most shows. He always returned my calls, checked with us about the song list, coordinated well with the hotel and our event planner and in the end rocked the house. We wanted a band that would keep the crowd dancing and having fun and they delivered. I would definitely consider using them again or for other events.
