DESCRIPTION:
Burgie Crandall's Let's Dance Band & his Burgie Crandall Big Band are based in the Phoenix Metro Area. Organized for 25 years, Burgie's Let's Dance Band consists of stylistic especially arranged library, including top hits of the last 60 years, standard tunes made popular in the 40's,50's, 60's - swing, upswing, Latin, and all the ballroom favorites, featuring top hits of last 60 years. This band consists of 6 to 15 members. Burgie's One O'clock Jazz Big Band (16-22 members) salutes Count Basie,Stan Kenton & famous Jazz legends. Burgie's bands have played for shows with guest stars from Las Vegas and around the USA, conventions, weddings, fairs, festivals (wine & jazz, etc.), cruise ships, theme parties, reunions and dance clubs. Most recents gigs include "Dancing with the Stars Arizona" at the Phoenician 2008 (Westin Kierland 2007), Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa, Arizona, 5 months at Chinook Winds Casino Dances, Hilton Hotel, Red Lion and Viking Serenade Cruise Ship, Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center, Scottsdale, AZ. Burgie was a woodwind instructor at US Naval School of Music, Washington, DC,and traveled as a professional musician during 40's since age 15, with bands such as; Henry Busse, Benny Strong, Teddy Phillips, Dick Jergens, Frankie Masters, Jimmy Joy and other name and semi-name big bands. He taught 34 years in the Pacific Northwest, high school, college & private lessons. Premier Dance Magazine, August, 1999, calls Burgie's Let's Dance Band, 'Not just a big band, but a terrific dance band - probably the best dance band in the country.'
Chuck Southcott, top Hollywood radio personality called Burgie the "Last of his kind. A true professional who is still making the best music out there." Burgie Crandall is available to bring his Let's Dance Band or his Big Band to local, national and international venues.

The band was excellent! Our guests loved them even though we couldn't get many of them to dance. We loved dancing to them and my husband was really enjoyed having them play for his birthday party!! I would HIGHLY recommend this band!!!

I thought the band was great! The music they played was very good. I liked the fact that you could talk to your friends and hear what they were saying without having to scream over the music. I felt these three band members were very talented and I would defineately hire them again.
