Description
Whether your event calls for a dance band, a flute and piano duet, a jazz trio of saxophone, piano and string bass, a polka band featuring accordion and clarinet, classical music played on violin, or the sweet strains of a Celtic harp, the musicians of Calamity Jazz have the versatility and repertoire to provide just the right ambience.
Just as Calamity Jane was an innovative personality who broke molds and stereotypes, so Calamity Jazz ['way out here in the Wild West] honors our musical heritage by playing traditional jazz, gospel, and ragtime, coupled with swing, ballads, standards, novelty tunes, blues, and more.
A note regarding the tune list: We tailor our set lists for the event and the occasion. Our goal is the complete satisfaction of our customers, and we are constantly expanding our repertoire.
We play for weddings, funerals, anniversaries, parties, receptions, ice cream socials, proms... we believe that live music provides the perfect atmosphere for any occasion.

Feedback
- Calamity Jazz played for our parent's 50th wedding anniversary (a big room full of jazz fans) and they were terrific--excellent musicians, great song selection, professional, and they obviously enjoyed playing together. A big hit, really helped make the party a memorable event. -- Lydia G, Portland, OR, 9/13/2009
- Absolutely amazing musicians!!! Just a great band, everyone loved their sound! -- Augustine C, Jacksonville, OR, 6/27/2009
- Calamity Jazz was AMAZING! We booked them for our wedding, and they were fabulous the entire time. Being a busy bride- I didn't communicate as much as I would have liked, or even met them beforehand, but the came through with an amazing performance. They bent over backwards for us and were so nice in doing so! They played a fun and excellent selection- They were super friendly and their communication before and after the event was steller. I can't say enough about how wonderful they are. Whenever we're in need of musicians for any event- they will be our number one choice!!! Thank you- and we'll be in touch! -- Laura B, Terrebonne, OR, 9/7/2008
- We had Calamity Jazz play for us on the Sternwheeler Rose. It was the perfect music for the setting. The group was there on time, knew the songs on the playlist we had given them, and had a great sense of timing in that they played the most appropriate songs for the events of the moment.
In addition to their professionalism, they are gracious and wonderful people to work with. -- Linda P, Portland, OR, 5/4/2008

- I was very impressed with the band. They worked with us, were kind, never made me feel like I was asking them too many questions and worked very well with me to help the bride and groom enjoy their reception. They will come highly recommended by me in the future.
