Description

The wonderful voice of Steve Swan can bring people out of their seats applauding, on to the dance floor, bring tears to their eyes or gives goose bumps. A performing artist with a guitar since a teen Steve played cover tunes, original rock, country, satire, new age and Christian music as a singer/musician. As a solo singer Steve currently focuses on the wonderful Legendary sound of Frank Sinatra and other greats. His tribute performances are so good, often people remark that even his eyes are blue, although they are actually green.

Steve as a Frank Sinatra tribute singer is available to perform solo with recorded backing tracks, with other members of a Rat Pack Tribute or can join a live big band. Where Steve truly shines is at the mike. His mature melodious voice and clear style of singing is perfect for the timeless songs of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis and Andy Williams.

On acoustic guitar he can serenade with original romantic ballads, country tunes or play a long list of well known songs. He has music partners who can join him if a fuller sound is needed for your event or regular bookings. Steve has a full set of country between classic, new and original. He plays 6 and 12 string guitar often bringing more than one guitar to an event to avoid having to tune during a show.

Steve plays the bagpipes. Steve's parents both played the trumpet. He inherited a Scottish set of lungs that hold 1/3 more air than most. This is part of his unique ability to belt out the big notes of the legendary singers or play extended bagpipe performances. His family is proud of their Scottish heritage. His tartan is MacKay, plus affiliated to Royal Stewart. Steve taught himself to play the pipes in the early 70's just from listening to pipe performances near his home and at Stern Grove. When he plays in the open, he draws people till they surround him transfixed. He knows hundreds of songs, though some only by the way they sound so send samples when able or if the tune is obscure.

Want to rock? Steve sings and plays electric guitar accompanied by backing tracks for his solo show of original and/or cover tunes. When he plays with others for a fuller sound he plays bass or rhythm while singing lead or harmonizing with other band members to crank out the good ol' Rock and Roll from the 60s-80s. He can play newer tunes, if they rock.

When New Age came on the scene, Steve composed many lovely pieces. His music is perfect to listen while at at events, when enjoying the ambiance at fine hotels and restaurants. Steve plays one instrument, i.e. electric lead guitar, while the rest of his new age composition plays behind him. Steve is a gifted musician who can play most any instrument he picks up, the first time. He uses pre-recorded backing because when recording the work, he played all the parts by multi-tracking.

He can play or sing or play a wholly new song in just a few days. If you want your favorite song at an event request it and you shall have it when it matter to you most.

At one of three New Year's Eve Frank Sinatra style performances, a woman commented to me,"My husband is the Frank fan. I never liked him, but we both loved Steve." Take a moment and listen to the Voice of Steve Swan.

Feedback

  • Steve arrived early for the performance, which made me very happy. He accomodated my requests for dress and choice of songs. He has a beautiful voice and my staff enjoyed him. He was very flexible with the venue and audience. -- Cathy S, San Jose, CA, 8/20/2008
  • Steve and his wife Mary were wonderful. Having Steve play the bagpipes for my wedding was a special gift and surprise to my Scottish husband. From the first moment I spoke with Steve's wife Mary, I knew I need not look any further. Steve and Mary worked with me on keeping the bagpipes a surprise and showed as much passion about my wedding day as if it were their own daughters wedding. Steve played my processional and re-cesional. Amazing Grace on the bagpipes never sounded more spectacular than when Steve played it. He was a joy to listen to and a sweet and profesional man. I will continue to use him for further events. - Amy P. -- Amy P, Los Gatos, CA, 5/4/2008
  • Both Steve, and his wife Mary were very professional, nice, and very accomodating to the unique needs of this funeral. I received alot of feedback from those who attended the funeral who felt this was one of the highlights of the funeral. -- Tammy R, Vacaville, CA, 2/19/2008
