DESCRIPTION:
My voice gives everything I do a "bluesy feel" to it... although, I perform R&B, blues, standards, gospel & original music. I've sung with high-energy rock bands, country bands, R&B, blues & variety bands. I've played piano bars extensively... I fronted my own blues band on the "blues circuit".
I have worked as a sideman to many R&B legends, such as The Coasters, The Drifters, Spyder Turner, Rufus Thomas, Clifford Curry, Maurice Williams & ex-Drifter, Marcel Evans. Through my associations with these masters of the "art of entertaining", I learned that entertaining is "more than just singin' songs"... in the immortal words of my mentor, Marcel Evans, "you gotta sing 'em a song & tell 'em a story". I use my music as avehicle to deliver a message of hope...
My 2005 CD, an homage to Black Gospel music crossed over onto the Southern Gospel charts (The Singing News Top 80 - Oct. '05). I perform at music halls, coffeehouses, restaurants, at fairs & festivals... & have performed regularly for the last 10 years at America's Premier Tourist Attraction, The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. In my spare time , I entertain at nursing homes, assisted care facilities, adult day care centers & prisons.
