Mambo LeBron Orchestra was created by Band Leader/Bassist Angel 'Mambo" LeBron, Jr. back in 1998. This 13-15 piece Orchestra, started in New York, has been Mambo's dream for many years. Most of the Musicians who are a part of this Band had worked with Mambo backing up famous Salsa Artists such as Frankie Negron, George LaMond, Michael Stuart, Son By 4 and Brenda K. Starr.
Mambo's musical career started at a very young age. His Father Angel Lebron is the founder and leader of one of the most popular bands in the world…"The LeBron Brothers" who started their fame with their Boogaloo Hits in the 1960's and their biggest hit under the Fania/Cotique label, "Salsa Y Control" in 1968. Through the years, mambo played congas with the band at venues like The Cheetah, St. George Hotel and The New York Casino to name a few. Mambo had the opportunity to meet many famous artists while the LeBron Brothers recorded their music, such as Johnny Pacheco and Ray Barretto, just to name a few. After producing a few freestyle/dance records on Sal Abbatiello's Fever Records in the early 90's, including His biggest hit, "Within My Heart" by Voyce on Atlantic Records, Mambo began to play bass for Artists outside of His family. In addition to the Artists mentioned above, Mambo has performed with, Tito Nieves, Jerry Rivera, Jose Alberto, Hector Tricoche and many more.
Mambo LeBron Orchestra was created to keeping the Big Band Salsa sound alive.
Mambo's first objective is to bring to his fans Salsa hits from the 60's to the present. Mambo also included in his music list a few select songs to perform as a tribute to His family. Secondly, Mambo's Orchestra only performs 1 or 2 famous songs per Artist who had made a grand impact on the Salsa scene. Mambo believes that anything more than 2 songs would not be appropriate to his message. He wants the Mambo Lebron Orchestra to be the band that supports all of the music of our Salsa culture, so that everyone would continue to support and purchase those Artists records, CD's and MP3's as well as going to their favorite Artists concerts.
Mambo has since created a new family of Musicians in Florida. As well as his New York based band, Mambo has the option of covering various regions for travel.
You will surely be pleased with either band because of their professionalism and extensive experience. This awesome Orchestra consists of 3-4 Lead singers, piano, bass, congas, timbales, bongo/bell, 3 trumpets and 3 trombones.
Mambo has performed at Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, Copacabana, various out-door events and more. Mambo LeBron Orchestra is always ready to entertain dancers of all levels and styles within the Salsa beat. This Orchestra will be the next band on your list for your event.
