Description
Blake Nix is a singer/guitarist who has been playing music for most of his life. He has played clubs and festival stages nationwide and internationally in high profile rock bands such as Nashville TN based Hells/Bells and New York based Sticky Fingers. Although he plays a wide selection of pop, folk and rock classics Blake has most frequently reminded listeners of the Beatles, John Fogerty, and sometimes even 90s folk punk band the Violent Femmes.
On his own he has performed for weddings-(receptions and special music), night clubs, private parties and can provide backing musicians if desired. The material for his setlists can range from quieter folk and singer/songwriters like Jimmy Buffett, Bob Dylan and Townes Van Zandt, to classic rock such as the Rolling Stones and the Beatles, to 90's bands Stone Temple Pilots and Alice In Chains, to jam band favorites Phish and Ben Harper and other contemporary artists like Coldplay and Ray Lamontagne. Classic country like Hank Williams Sr, Merle Haggard and Gram Parsons has also found his way into his set list from time to time and can be played on request.
Blake is also promoting a CD of his own material called 'Mr Adams' Blues'. 'Mr Adams' Blues' has been described as both folky and rocking, and it is on this CD where Blake's Beatles and late 60s and early 70's folk and rock and roll influences can be heard.
