As an altruistic dreamer who strives to adorn music with a texture unlike any other, Oya began her music career behind the well-worn wooden pews of her childhood church. Her gift of melody was further inspired by such musical veterans as Patti Labelle, Prince, Bob Marley, Shirley Murdock and Aretha Franklin. Through these unique blends of vocal stylings Oya has cultivated her very own soulful sense of song.

With a background in creative writing coupled with her commitment to highlight the grit and glory of both loving and living, Oya is a singer and a storyteller, bellowing out a lover’s blues or riding on the rift of a radiant smile. She embodies a musical integrity that stretches vocal flexibility to new lengths. She exudes a choral freedom that can be matched only by her captivating lyrics.

As a new dimension of talent who has already showcased her star power on stage with such prominent artist’s as Howard Hewett, Preston Glass (also on his new UK and USA release "Music as Medicine" and writing and singing on hits such as, “Got What You Want” featuring Bambino Brown and Reggae/Dancehall artist, Red Rat’s, “Give it Away” and “Keep your head up high” Oya’s creative force which begins on the pages of her self-authored songs is sure to end up on the lips of her soon to be fans.

• Wow, where do I begin? Oya provided the perfect musical element to my wedding ceremony. Given that my initial singer fell through, I first contacted her only a week prior to the event. She was traveling overseas at the time, but still promptly returned all of my emails and graciously agreed to perform. She was incredibly personable and spent a good deal of time getting to know me, learning about my relationship with my fiancee, and discussing my musical preference in an effort to identify the perfect song. In the end she actually customized the lyrics for a wonderful song that left all of our guests spellbound.
