Teresa Hawthorne and the Legacee Band R&B Band from Sewickley, PA

Teresa Hawthorne and Legacee have been performing in the Pittsburgh area for the last 15 years. The band plays an array of R and B, Soul, Smooth Jazz, Blues and Disco typically for events and night clubs in the Pittsburgh area. Teresa herself has a dynamic sound and impressive range as usually her sets contain technically impressive songs by such stalwart American artists as Aretha Franklin, Chakka Khan, Beyonce', Donna Summer, Gladys Knight, Natalie Cole, Stephanie Mills and many more of the R and B genre. Teresa's style on stage is tailored after many of these great singers, most notably Diana Ross, as Teresa's on stage appearance is always flawless and colorful. The band provides a soulful and dynamic approach, including Guitarist Larry Estes, Trumpeter Ian Gordon, bassist Arnold Stagger and Drummer Gregory Marshall, all of whom are proficient and engaging soloists in their own right. The band typically starts shows with a couple of numbers from the Smooth Jazz genre, including works by such artists as David Sanborn, Patrice Rushen, The Stylistics, Michael Jackson and Toni, Tony Tone, among others. For larger venues and events, an excellent keyboard player by the name of Quentin Ziegler may be added, as well as a local three piece background vocal group named the BGV's. Adding the Background Vocals to the event would add $1000.00 to the hiring fee. Teresa and her band's experience includes work in nightclubs, local festivals, community events, private parties, weddings, country clubs as well as special events for local organizations. In addition, one hallmark of a Teresa Hawthorne show is Teresa's ability to engage with her audience, as she is a warm and glib presence as MC and on most occasions the audience will participate in singing along with her and dancing.
