Polynesian Dance Productions brings you the most elite Polynesian dance revue in the tri-state area. All featured dancers were born and raised in the islands of Hawai'i or Samoa, and we boast a combined 80+ years of experience studying, performing, and teaching the traditional dances of Polynesia throughout the islands and beyond.
Our dancers have trained since childhood in the art of Hawaiian dance, culture, and language. We are award-winning professionals who have distinguished ourselves at international Hawaiian and Tahitian dance competitions, including the world-renowned Merrie Monarch Festival, the King Kamehameha Hula Competition, & Tahiti Fete. Before relocating to New York City, we each held coveted positions as performers in the best lu'au shows in Honolulu, including the Magic of Polynesia, Paradise Cove Lu'au, and the Star of Honolulu Sunset Cruise. We offer our clients a truly authentic Polynesian dance experience that can only be achieved through years of expert professional training in Hawai'i. We aim to respect and perpetuate the native culture of the islands in all that we do, and we share the essence of aloha with every audience member.
Our spectacular performances include dances from the islands of Hawai'i, Tahiti, New Zealand, & Samoa and feature authentic costumes designed and constructed by our dancers, including REAL handmade La'i (ti-leaf) skirts, better known as "grass skirts". We can also incorporate educational and audience participation segments into our show at the clients' discretion.

~ May ~ Our resident Tahitian dance specialist, May has won numerous solo Tahitian dance titles at Tahiti Fete competitions in Hawai'i. She has distinguished herself as a versatile Polynesian dancer performing in the Magic of Polynesia extravaganza in Waikiki as well as at the Princeville Hotel and the Poipu Village Show on her native island of Kaua'i. She has also trained in Tahiti and has danced internationally as part of the Sounds of Hawai'i tour in Japan. In addition to dancing with Polynesian Dance Productions, May also teaches Tahitian dance in New York City.
~ Malia ~ For the past thirteen years, Malia has performed extensively as a solo hula dancer throughout Hawai'i, Japan, Australia, & Europe. In Hawai'i, she performed in both Germaine's Lu'au and the Paradise Cove Lu'au. She also spent five years performing and teaching Polynesian dance at Japan's Tokyo Disneyland. She has appeared as a Polynesian dancer on Baywatch, Wheel of Fortune, and the Miss Universe Pageant. She trained in Hawaiian dance at Halau Na Mamo o Ka'ala under the direction of kumu hula (master hula instructor) Noelani Chang and in Tahitian dance with Tamali'i o Patitifa in Wai'anae, Hawai'i. She has taught Hawaiian dance and culture in Hawai'i, Japan, North Carolina, and New York City.
~ Kealani ~ Kealani has dedicated herself to the art of hula kahiko, or ancient Hawaiian dance. She began her study of hula at the age of four, and has performed competitively and professionally since 1996. Before moving to the east coast, she received eight competitive titles as an advanced dancer with the hula halau (school) Ka Pa Lehua under the direction of na kumu hula (master hula instructors) Lehua Hulihe'e & Doreen Doo. She also spent five years entertaining guests aboard the Star of Honolulu cruise ship with her award-winning song and dance. She has taught Hawaiian and Tahitian dance in Honolulu, Connecticut, and New York City.
~ Kim ~ The newest addition to our group, fresh from Hawai'i nei, Kim began studying the art of hula dance with hula halau (school) Hui 'O Kamalei in 1996. Kim has performed with this halau, known for its innovative, modern style, throughout both Hawai'i and Japan. Kim has also studied traditional hula kahiko with kumu hula (master hula instructor) Lehua Hulihe'e and has won awards in numerous hula kahiko dance competitions. She has danced professionally with the Tahitian dance group Te Vai Ura Nui in Honolulu, Hawai'i. Kim continues her efforts to showcase authentic Polynesian culture and dance by organizing Hawaiian cultural events in New York City. She is also the lead dancer and instructor of Polynesian dance at Columbia University.
~ Taki ~ All hail Chief Taki! Born and raised in American Samoa, Taki captivates audiences with his spectacular 'ailao afi, the Samoan Fire Knife Dance. Not only does our Chief and his fire knife provide the dramatic peak of our Polynesian dance revue, but he is also a favorite with the ladies and gentlemen and will have your audience members dancing up on stage in no time! He performed for many years as a dancer at the world-famous Polynesian Cultural Center on the island of O'ahu. He is also currently featured as the Samoan Chief and fire knife dancer on Snickers brand commercials airing nation wide.

Great group of entertainers! They were extremely accommodating to our needs. They kept my mind at ease through the entire planning process. Even during the 4 hour travel to the event they kept me informed of their arrival time which I thought was amazing. I was a little nervous about keeping the attention of High School Seniors but they started out with an amazing dance and ended with the fire dance which kept the students very happy and involved. They are truly a class act from start to finish and really appreciated their professionalism!

The Polynesian Dance Productions was extremely professional and very accomidating. We were not allowed to do the Fire Knife Dance in the Senior Center so instead they gave us a free Authentic Lei Greeter. The Senior Citizens had such a great time on their virtual cruise.
