Cocktail PartyReviewed on January 24, 2011From Milwaukee, WI

Aside from being a great musician, JL Russell was extremely personable and accommodating to everyone. He was a fabulous addition to our party! We all thoroughly enjoyed his presence and would definitely consider him again for a party. He's a "keeper!" BOBBIE MENDELSOHN FOX POINT, WI

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on May 31, 2011From Chicago, IL

I found JL to be a very versatile and talented musician. He was very accommodating with the selections he played and added so much to my party. Several guests particularly expressed how much they enjoyed his music. I would definitely recommend him. Ilene S. 5/31/11 60th Birthday Party

New Year's Eve PartyReviewed on January 2, 2011From Chicago, IL

JL was great! He was a hit with all of our guests. Very professional and catered to all of our song requests. He also brought a Sax player which was great as well, they made a great duo. We will be sure to hire him again for future events.

Christmas PartyReviewed on December 13, 2010From Arlington Heights, IL

J.L.Russell, was a total hit at our party, people have asked how I found him and still mention the party and how much he made it one of my BEST ever..(and I have a lot of parties!) He catered to the crowd and their requests, which made it extra special for many. The process, and setup was one of the smoothest and most organized I have encountered. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Cocktail PartyReviewed on July 30, 2012From Mukwonago, WI

My guests seemed to like the dinner music and he was responsive when I asked him to play a little softer. My only complaint was that he didn't play the faster music til a lot of the guests had left.

WeddingReviewed on May 21, 2012From Germantown, WI

We had J.L. come up to do music for our wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, not all of his equipment was working properly with the electrical system of the venue. In spite of these difficulties, he was very professional and tried to get back up recorded music working. He was able to get his piano working and played both pieces that we requested beautifully, along with pre and post ceremony music. Because of the technical difficulties, J.L. offered to deduct from the final balance, a very professional move.

Cocktail PartyReviewed on March 25, 2012From Chicago, IL

we probably should have discussed before he started playing just what we were looking for, since JL can play in many different styles, and he is quite accomplished. My wife and I are both musicians and have rather definite tastes. But he arrived a bit late after getting confused about the address, and I was already busy with guests. JL played more in a pure jazz idiom than playing songs that were recognizable and singable. Still, I fault myself for not going over the song list with him when he arrived.

That this client was less than completely satisfied comes as a blow to me; it's the very 1st time since I began booking through Gigmasters I received less than a perfect score. Certainly, rather than relying on the videos of myself playing, and the printed songlist in my press kit, I will absolutely go the extra mile and inquire by phone of future clients if they have specific selections they'd like played. To this particular client, I owe you a 2-hour show at half the price I charged for this show & travel expense. Feel free to contact me to collect, and thanks for hiring me. - JL Russell, Soundworx Multimedia.
