Rush Robinson

Rush Robinson (his real name!) has been a professional musician for over 50 years and has a lifetime of piano and keyboard experience. His repertoire covers a wide range of well-known songs from standards to show tunes, oldies to rock, pop songs to classics, and everything in between. Rush is primarily a solo pianist, but his specialty is his unique "one-man-band" setup. In addition to using any acoustic piano at your location -- either grand piano or upright -- Rush adds several other electronic instruments including a string synthesizer (violin/cello) keyboard, a custom designed bass pedal/keyboard combo, and a sophisticated drum machine with hundreds of rhythm patterns, all played LIVE with no pre-recorded CD or tracks. Rush can do anything from quiet background music to energetic dance numbers, choosing appropriate music on the spot and even taking requests, all without any music. All the instruments are played through a professional sound sytem with large speaker cabinets that aren't too loud but very clean. Everyone who hears the full setup always says, "It sounds like an orchestra!" Rush always carries a cordless microphone and is very comfortable to act as a musical host for any occasion from an anniversary party to a charity fundraiser. He is also a polished entertainer and can do a full solo program for anything from a small group of 20 people up to 200 or more. Rush has been called the "Total Package!" He especially enjoys playing for older audiences including groups like women's clubs, retirement communities, civic organizations, community centers and so on. Rush lives in Anaheim, California and primarily works in the Los Angeles and Orange County area, but frequently travels all over southern California anywhere from Bakersfield to Barstow to San Diego to Las Vegas, Nevada. He is currently a staff musician at Disneyland, usually playing the Ragtime piano on Main Street, USA. Rush also works at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. Rush is a full-time professional musician and takes pride in being well dressed at all his appearences. He always adds plenty of extra travel time to distant locations to allow for heavy traffic, and is always set up and ready to play well ahead of time in case a client wants an early start for the occasion.
