DESCRIPTION:
Bobby Jay – The Blues Professor – Playing and singing the blues in the style and tradition of the greatest blues piano players. What do you need for a great blues player? Passion!! Bobby Jay brings a lifetime of passion combined with extraordinary talent to make your party the best blues party you can imagine. Whether he is performing solo or with his four piece blues band you are going to have an evening of exciting music that will have all of your guests talking for years to come. How did he do that? How can anybody combine Mozart and Dr. John with a Grateful Dead song? Led Zeppelin on the piano? Jimi Hendrix? Choosing songs and material from literally every style of music but putting it all into a blues format means you'll everything from a basic Muddy Waters blues standard to a modified version of a Tom Waits classic. Review by Alan Hord,
after show at Celtic Bayou,Redmond, WA "I think you have a wonderful unique voice that balances your marvelous keyboard interpretations and arrangements.... The dexterity and depth of your talent is both captivating and refreshing... ".
Gigmasters experience Robert Goldstick has been a performer on gigmasters for the past two years as is the No. 1 rated steel drum band in Seattle with over 25 bookings, 22 extremely positive client reviews and a consistent 5 star rating. You can read reviews and listen to his calypso music under steel drum band in Seattle, Washington. BIOGRAPHY Robert was performing in the second grade and hasn't stopped since. Starting with classical piano lessons to rock 'n roll in High School, Jazz in college and journeyman piano work for the next 40 years he has experienced almost every playing situation you can imagine. From the neighborhood bar in Philadelphia where he grew up to European royalty parties in the Canary Islands, audiences have always been surprised and extremely pleased at his ability to make music that is both beautiful and emotional. From gritty blues to smooth jazz to psychedelic rock'n roll, the piano is going to tell a story of love and life. And it's always a new story. He never plays any song the same because every moment is new, so every song has a new flavor to represent the unique time of now. The trail has been long and winding including piano bars in Philadelphia, New York, Orlando, Los Angeles, Carmel, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and Seattle; theaters in New York and Los Angeles as a player and writer; front act for Blood Sweat and Tears as the musical part of a mime troupe; Joey D and The Starlighters, jazz, country and blues bands here there and everywhere, private parties from weddings to funerals (One of the greatest complements I ever received was after singing Amazing Grace at a funeral). Each gig has added something to the blend of music, song and lyrics that he brings to every performance. Consequently, you hear the songs of these performers through the eyes and ears of a real piano man. He's also been performing in nursing homes for the past 15 years and seen the incredible effect music can have under the most extreme conditions and this has shown him how to apply that intensity to the everyday world. It is a wonderful experience to bring a crowd of happy people to the place of singing Piano Man as a group; but it is infinitely more satisfying to bring song to someone who can't speak or see someone dance who can't move. Seeing these miracles has shown him how to create the same degree of feeling in the "normal" world. You can find out more about this work at his website This site was created to show musicians and caregivers how to present music in care facilities and has been used by thousands of people to make nursing home residents lives a little better.
