Hi, I'm Michael, an assignment-based event, sports, portrait and editorial photographer. I'm also video producer, endless traveler, and emerging entrepreneur. With a wide range of projects from years of freelance work, I've trekked along the Himalayan Mountains in search of revolutionary wireless networks, captured legendary artists such as Pearl Jam, Jay-Z, and The Boss live on stage, and chased world-class cyclists racing through the Rockies. On most days, you can find me in Denver, CO although I'm a sucker for work that keeps me on the move My evolution as a photographer has been continually fueled by new experiences and ever growing opportunities. To me, it's about expressing the story in a simply way—giving us the ability to discover this chaotic world and the complex beings who inhabit it. When you are traveling to foreign places with an open mind, you are moving towards understanding. A few things I've learned thus far: it's better to listen than speak, better to get close than play it safe, and vision will always triumph over style. For me, to move is to learn. Many of the techniques Ive learned through photography is though emerging into a project and growing along the way. Trial and error, and jumping into the water head first is my kind of learning experience. If its true that photography can capture what people find hard so say, I think the process also helps the discover things about the world they find hard to learn from a book. This is how I want to live every day, and I love this idea. A picture captures the moment visually, but its much much harder to capture the feeling of that beautiful moment. I'm glad they dont last forever because we would soon forget what that feeling is like.
