Flowers are fine and good food is gracious. But whether people have a "nice" time or a "Wow, That Was GREAT!!" time at your party depends much more on the quality, versatility and energy of your live band!

Current Invention specializes in playing a wide variety of music for weddings, receptions, private parties and other special occasions. You can have elegant, classy jazz for dinner and cocktails and later have the whole crowd shaking to some of your favorite rock and roll, R&B and Motown hits.

We're also happy to emcee your event and to help manage the energetic flow of the evening from the stage.

Our core group is a quintet (female vocalist, keyboard/vocals, guitar/vocals, bass/vocals, drums), but we can customize our ensemble to your needs and budget. For example, we can add horns (e.g. saxophone, trumpet, trombone) and/or percussion for extra flavor and kick. Or we can work the other direction and offer you a quartet, a piano jazz trio, duet or solo piano.

We have hundreds of songs in our repertoire (we'll send you a more comprehensive song list) and are happy to learn a couple of new tunes for the "first dance" and the parent dances given sufficient notice.

• Everything was absolutely great with Current Invention. From the very beginning they were helpful with providing information to how the reception would flow, the progression of music in the sets, and listening to what we wanted for music. • We thoroughly enjoyed Current Invention at our wedding! The band was great song wise, playing our requests and able to pick songs that matched our taste.
