YeraSon is a New York-based Cuban Charanga Orchestra with a multinational flair. Its members represent a cross-section of countries, from Cuba and Panama to Puerto Rico, Africa, Japan and the U.S. YeraSon Orquesta Charanga electrifies with old-school Cuban music with a distinctly modern New York twist. This Cuban charanga orchestra interprets authentic Cuban son, mambo, cha cha cha, cumbia and merengue with inimitable drive and swing. The bands unique sound is at once elegant and energetic with a contagious rhythm that attracts dancing and listening crowds alike. YeraSon is a treat for both the ears and the feet!
YeraSon has appeared at the Latin Heritage Awards Ceremony the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Town Hall New York as guest artists of the Prairie Home Companion in a live broadcast on National Public Radio, a Nokia commercial, performances at the Brazilian Film Festival of New York, Univion's Noticias and Despierta America, the Hispanic Heritage Festival of Housing and Urban Development in D.C., North River New Music Series, Ramas Y Raices Series, the New School for Social Research, the Graduate Center at City College, the Stella Adler Studio for Acting, the Greenwich House Music School, Susquehanna University, the Godwin Ternbach Museum of Queens College, John Jay College, Ramapo College, the Chelsea Art Museum, numerous New York area night clubs, restaurants and outdoor festivals.
