DESCRIPTION:
Scott’s introduction to music started with his father who was an amateur organist. At the age of 7 he became interested in the Hammond Organ himself and began to learn the fundamentals of music through the instrument. Under his father’s tutelage he slowly became familiar with the standards and would play for family and guests.Around the age of 12 he became interested in the piano as well and began classical piano lessons that went on for a number of years. A fan of Chopin, he gave his music great attention in particular and would play many pieces in yearly concerts put together by his teacher at the time for all of her students. He started playing out in the late 1990's and ultimately followed his heart and went on to play functions all over the tri state area as well as a couple of times in Chicago. He has played functions in many well known places such as the Waldorf Astoria, the Kitano Hotel and the Water Club in NYC as well as the Somerset Palace in NJ and Penn Ryn Mansion in Pennsylvania. In 2003 he played solo piano at the Cornerstone Café in Metuchen NJ for a year and 2005 played at Jamie’s Restaurant in Clifton NJ for a number of months. He continues to play all over the northeast for all types of functions. His repertoire consists of a little bit of everything from classical, ragtime, standards, Broadway, seventies’ and hits of today. His style would best be described as pop with elements of jazz and classical interspersed throughout his playing. Always open to a request and happy to talk to any patron he offers a nice mix of warmth and good music. From 2005 to May 2008 he was a pianist at Nordstrom in the Menlo Park Mall in Edison NJ and is now playing at the Blue Bay Inn Hotel Lounge in the Atlantic Highlands NJ on Saturday evening's.

CLIENT FEEDBACK:
Scott did a great job and we were very pleased with him.
I'm sorry I'm getting back to you so late but we just got back from our honeymoon.

Scott was excellent. He was all set up and ready when my
guests started arriving. I had told him we did not want line dances, YMCA type music. He played an excellent selection of dinner music that was also suitable for slow dancing. Several of my guests commented on the excellent music. He really added a nice atmosphere to my reception.
If you are looking for nice background "dinner" musice where people can have conversations without yelling over the speakers, Scott is the right one for you.

Scott McAllister’s fluid piano technique and fine selection of 1930s and 1940s standards and light classical music added to the elegance of our wedding reception at the Waldorf=Astoria. The conviviality of our reception was enhanced by Scott’s sunny personality and excellent background sound. Scott made a great effort to find, learn and play songs that we had requested, which we appreciate. Our friends and we loved Scott and his music. We definitely would employ Scott again, and highly recommend him to all others who want the perfect pianist at their event.

Scott came to my parents home in NJ and played music of the 30s,40s and 50s for a couple of hours. He took requests and understood immediately what we wanted. He was professional, personable, punctual, and comfortable in this very personal setting. It was an extremely memorable, intimate family gathering and I'm delighted to have found Scott and Gigmasters on-line. They provided exactly the entertainment I was hoping for.
