Description

CHICAGO'S BEST KEPT SECRET! DISCOVER THE DIFFERENCE..EXPERIENCE THE PASSION: by an extremely gifted pianist that can perform jazz & pop standards of the 40's thru 80's; as well as semi-classical works for clientele who expect to see and hear a performance that sounds like a ticket attraction to New York's Lincoln Center and not like a bargain priced student level piano lesson recital. Heavily influenced by such legends as McCoy Tyner and Sergei Rachmaninoff, Boise Queen has managed to bridge the techniques of these two piano giants into his own self-styled rhythm and phrasing that leaves most audiences in awe when applied to works by Duke Ellington, Sammy Kahn or to songs often sung by Frank Sinatra, Nat (King) Cole or Debbie Reynolds.

Boise Queen is currently performing at "HOUSE RED" 7403 W. Madison St.Forest Park, IL.scheduled at frequent advertised intervals monthly. He is also working with a local website advertiser who is currently funding one of Boise's promotions that offers a one time "free"performance for a 501c kids charity for Valentines Day 2010. Boise can be booked to perform as a self accompanied pianist performing simultaneously on a rhythm track keyboard and acoustic grand piano for dancing and full concert performing or background music ambience.

As CEO and co-founder of his own company, Boise Queen maintains a popular based free music performance and promotion website thats the talk of the town for a professional "above average" pianist. Mr. Queen specializes the art of performing easy listening pop ballad standards for fine restaurant dining and wedding receptions to the appeal of both the conversation and listening audience. He maintains an extensive repertoire of over 180 songs ranging from the early 1940's through present day genre; of which only a small partial sample list is being presented on this webpage.

Boise Queen is also a composer and arranger of some of the most emotionally moving piano compositions available. New and just added to his website by special request are two original classical compositions composed as part of his "Vintage Romantic Classics" album series dated from 1988-1990 (1. Seven Days in May,2.Windsands Concerto). His newest CD "Classic Live" features a special piano and orchestra adaptation of Leonard Bernstein's "Somewhere" From Westside Story. What you'll see and hear in Boise Queen's performances will identify his relationship with music as being an excellent performer at the piano. Boise is one of a few pianists that can perform both classical and jazz interchangeably on a virtuoso quality scale. Boise's solo piano performance style is clean, polished and most of all "natural".Stated in a recent press release interview of the Wednesday Journal:"I'm confident about what my music has to offer. I feel that people should want to hire you for the way you sound and what is music without it? They can't hear a degree or an award but they can hear the music and what it does for the soul of an individual. Music is an artform meant to be heard to be believed, appreciated and supported." Boise's performance does what its supposed to do for the listener, free of any gimmicks or props. His performance sells itself!

Boise Queen's performances is like a fine glass of vintage wine; selectively enriching audience appeal looking for that traditional"classic virtuoso" performer offering a wide margin of substance and full bodied freshness for the listener without compromising the aftertaste of the avid conversationalist in a reception setting. Boise Queen's performances are ideal and selectively serve clientele who place a greater emphasis on hiring based upon performance quality over that of pricing. In a recent interview Boise was quoted as saying:"Anyone can manipulate pricing with the demands of the market but manipulating the quality of product to meet a particular client's satisfaction and/or expectation relative to price...the answer to that is in the product itself, which is why I am comfortable in a non-competing price position because the type of customer I'm looking for say's that I don't have to engage my performance in a "price war" if the music quality sells itself to the right buyer. I feel that my performance should be worth every bit and then some of whatever price is placed on it within reason. In summary; If you allow your performance to be price driven then you'll tend to be available for everybody whose just looking for a good price. If your performance is primarily quality driven then you won't be available for just anybody and everybody, which is the way it should be."

Boise's objective is to accomodate a select group of clientele that will want to support his performances on a frequent basis long term.

Boise Queen is certainly no stranger to the Chicago circuit. He has performed with such legends as Milt Trenier and the late Billy Gardener Trio. He once opened for the famed "Cloris Leachman"in an awards dinner tribute sponsored by American Airlines and has been highly recommended as featured performing artist at a wealth of private special events, award dinner ceremonies, fundraisers and holiday festivities throughout the midwest for the past 30 years. Its for this reason that if one were to weigh in the "quality" inherent in Boise's playing alongside the "value" in acquiring this form of art for their next event; one can easily walk away knowing that they've acquired the best of both worlds, from a pair of hands that can do a lot more than just play a song. SPECIAL UPDATE: BE SURE TO ENGAGE YOUR SPEAKERS BEFORE ENTERING HIS WEBSITE; AS EACH PAGE AUTO-ENGAGES THE MUSIC UPON OPENING. His website opens and displays best in Internet Explorer.

PLEASE WELCOME! JAZZ and POP BALLAD VOCALIST MAJA RIOS MAJA has been a long standing favorite in a variety of Chicago area club engagement circles as well as with the private sector of client based events.Maja is the widow of Blues legend "Bebop Sam" that some years ago put out the ever popular album "SPACESHIP LOVE". Feedback

  • Boise Queen’s performance was perfect and he was wonderfully accommodating at our Christmas cocktail party, keeping the music entertainment lively with many song variations. Everyone enjoyed his fantastic talent and I received many, many compliments from our guests on how much they enjoyed him. Many guests gathered around for the fun of watching and listening to him play, while at the same time others in the room were able to hold social conversations because his music was not overwhelming. I cannot recommend Boise enough for anyone needing such fine music entertainment. I hope he will accept our invitation to return sometime. He is the best! -- Gary S, Bloomington, IL, 12/18/2009
  • Mr Queen was wonderful. He was great with contact before the wedding, was timely with everything and the music was excellent! Everyone enjoyed his playing and we will be sure to use him again! Thank you so much for helping to make our wedding reception special! Sincerely, Mr and Mrs Chris and Martha Mason -- Martha S, Chicago, IL, 11/1/2008
  • Mr.Boise Queen was most accommodating, not only while at our party but in communicating previous to the evening. His talent is outstanding and I can not tell you how many times I was asked "Where did you find him" ..His performance was enjoyed by all. -- Paul H, Madison, WI, 5/3/2008
  • Mr. Queen was delightful to work with throughout the entire process. He played jazz piano in my home for an anniversary party, and even though our home is small, the music blended perfectly well with the conversation. Mr. Queen is very talented, and I say that as a concertgoer and amateur pianist. He was clear and concise about the arrangements, arrived early, stayed as long I we desired, was very polite, and his fees were more than reasonable. I was lucky to find Mr. Queen through Gigmasters and plan to request his services in the future. -- Wendy R, Skokie, IL, 9/15/2007
  • This is the second time that Boise Queen has performed for us. His playing was outstanding and he was as always, very accommodating to our requests. I have booked many groups and you can't get any better than Boise - a fine musician and a fine gentleman. I will definitely have him play for us again. Joe Kainz, The Onion Pub and Brewery. -- Joe K, Lake Barrington, IL, 9/14/2007
  • I really enjoyed his performance and would hire him again for another event. -- Kym B, Chicago, IL, 9/2/2007
