I perform stand up comedy, emcee, and custom write shows for almost any venue. One of my repeat clients is the MS society of Minnesota and another is the HOPE coalition of Red Wing Minnesota.

Rosie the Riveter

Rosie the Riveter, the iconic "We Can Do it" image of WWII is as relevent for the men and women of today as she was 60 years ago. Amye Scharlau, a performer for more than 20 years, plays Rosie in this one women show that's much more than just a motivational speech, it's a witty celebration of the courage of "ordinary" people.

This fun and inspiring tale is spun by Rosie the Riveter herself as she describes the women of the 1940's reinventing themselves to save a nation. Rising to the occasion, the "Rosie's" of WWII challenged their roles and definitions of themselves. They overcame fear, self doubt, and a confusing new world to build confidence, relationships, and changed the way the world perceived women. Their stories are touching, humorous, and filled with courage.

Sound familiar? The men and women of today have many of the same challenges in an increasingly complicated world. What does it mean to be a success? Where do relationships and children fit in?

Courage is timeless and many of the lessons learned from our "Greatest Generation" can help us today and in our future. Learning to value and apply the unique skills of each individual leads to creative solutions for the whole community. This program is heart felt discussion of the accomplishments of ordinary people who acknowledged a challenge, rejected a stereotype, and changed the world. After all, there's a little "Rosie" in all of us.

The last "Rosie" show I performed took a survey after the show. 100% of the audience said I knew my subject and over 97% said it "was worth my time."

• We have a tough crowd when it comes to having fun our employee's are quiet and to themselves. We bribe our employees to come to our parties by telling them they have to be present to win anything and we accomodate everyone by using 2 different times for entertainment and meals, etc... We run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and to get everyone involved, we have to have the party at 2 different times. Ayme brought the quiet and shyness out of our group, she was patient with us on our time lines, and just did a wonderful show. I would recommend Ayme for any one.
