You won't find another Irish/Celtic band on Gigmasters like us!Imagine Celtic music with the back beat of drum kit, a guitarist raised on Metallica and the Indigo Girls, a dreadlocked mandolin and banjo player, a bassist with enough bottom to make the hydraulics on your car give out, a classically trained Violinist with a cascade of curly, flowing, blond hair and an outlandishly quaffed Gaelic-speaking tin whistler raised on sean-nos, new wave, and punk rock. Throw all those ingredients together with a generous amount of frenetic energy and you'll have your first taste of Ockham's Razor. And it only gets better, like really good whiskey. Ockham's Razor has performed over 125 shows since they debuted at the 2006 Fremont Summer Solstice Festival. Aside from numerous performances in local venues, Ockham's Razor has performed at the Northwest Folklife Festival, the Yakima Folklife Festival, Tacoma Highland Games, Whidbey Island Highland Games, Schweitzer Mountain Fall Music Festival, Galway Bay Irish Festival and headlined St. Patricks Day and Oktoberfest music festivals. During live performances, Ockham's Razor breaks the fourth wall by taking their show off-stage and interacting with the audience. Audience members at the Yakima Folklife Festival came up with their own classification for the band's genre-blending style and high-energy performances: "Turbo Celtic" and "Ethno Punk" being among some of the more favored descriptions. They have had the honor to open for internationally acclaimed Celtic bands The Paperboys and Enter the Haggis. Not too loud to drive people off and not so quiet to put the audience to sleep. Ockham's Razor is NOT your father's Irish band. Shows around Seattle are easier to accomodate but out-of-town shows are considered as well. Travel and lodging will need to be taken into consideration. We are a fun, young band who loves being on stage (and off!) and having fun with the audience. Don't let our appearance scare you. We're not a rock band thats going to scare people off. Our audiences range from 20 yo's out for the first time all the way to 70 yo's who enjoy hearing traditional songs presented in a new, exciting way. We can also adjust our line-up depending on the size of the venue.
