DESCRIPTION:
Though the Stonethrowers were founded as an original music band, they perform from a large and growing number of hard driving bluegrass and country standards. The instrumentalists aim to keep tradition alive with exceptional improvisational skill and interpretation. Three-part harmonies are a feature throughout most of the repertoire.
Four members often take the lead vocals adding an engaging interplay of personality and singing style. Our instrumentation is guitar/ voice, banjo/voice, mandolin/voice, pedal steel guitar, and upright bass/ voice.
You can expect to hear your favorite traditional songs as well as songs by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Hank Williams, Tom Waits, Gillian Welch, Steve Earl, Gram Parsons, Townes Van Zandt, Ricky Skaggs and more.
"A little bit of folk, a little bit of country and a whole lot of three-part harmonies add up to make this band one you don't want to miss." - Philly Metro

Marc and the band were amazing - friendly, professional and fun, they were exactly what we needed. Great bluegrass delivered by folks who could get people up dancing and share in the revelry! We loved their music online, and as we had hoped they were even better live. They helped us to add some personal touches to the set, and were a total pleasure to have at our wedding. Highly recommend them. Do it before they get famous and are no longer available!
Thanks so much,
Ronnie and Nikolle
