HOTLANTA DIXIELAND JAZZ is "JAZZ WITH A SOUTHERN ACCENT"

For great music and lots of fun let HOTLANTA DIXIELAND JAZZ set your feet firmly on Bourbon Street in Old New Orleans. You’ll experience every bit of the joy, energy, and humor of that early American Jazz called Dixieland. Songs from Fats Waller, Hoagy Carmichael, Louie Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, plus many old favorites like “Sweet Georgia Brown”, “Royal Garden Blues”, “South”, “Hard Hearted Hannah”, and “When The Saints Go Marchin’ In” are all part of Hotlanta’s musical treat.

Hotlanta performs in concert or at private events. The full band is six pieces: Clarinet, Cornet, Trombone, Banjo/Vocals, Tuba, and Drums. CONCERT PERFORMANCE REVIEWS “The six-man Hotlanta musical group made the rafters ring and the audience cheer. The group played and sang with enormous gusto that enchanted the foot stomping audience. It was a special evening with a very special musical group.” Vera Evans, THE COASTLAND TIMES, KITTY HAWK, NC

“Hotlanta coveys the charm and power of the music...the music pulls the listener in with its infectious rhythms and flights of improvisation, providing a glimpse of the excitement and creative energy of an earlier America” Richard Mills,CREATIVE LOAFING, ATLANTA, GEORGIA “Improvisation is the heart of this music and Hotlanta showed that they were up to making it happen. Dixieland is a true American form that has provided the basis for so many other types of popular music. It was a treat to hear it presented so well and with a lot of class.” Jon Wacker, THE DAILY GAZETTE, McCOOK, NEBRASKA

“Back by popular demand, the group’s laid-back style allowed the audience to enjoy some toe tappin’ and footstompin’. It was obvious that the six musicians enjoyed what they did, coming across relaxed….allowing each performer an opportunity to introduce his own personality and instrument.” Jane G. Collins, THE ITEM, SUMPTER, SOUTH CAROLINA

“The music swung like a pendulum and kicked like a mule”. Vocalist Rutan “had an easygoing, effortless delivery that nicely recalled Hoagy Charmichael” Peter Hummers, THE OUTER BANKS SENTINEL, NORTH CAROLINA

“Jazz fans are passionate over Hotlanta Dixieland Jazz when they show off their revved-up renditions of everything from prewar New Orleans chestnuts to postwar Duke Ellington standards.” Steve Dollar, THE ATLANTA JOURNAL/CONSTITUTION

“Really enjoyed the close musical relationship that spreads from your group to the audience….we even bought four CDs!” Email from Wofford College concert attendee, Andrew Doble, SPARTANBURG, SC
