DESCRIPTION:
The signature of Expresso Jazz is an eclectic blend of Jazz, Blues, Pop and original music. Expresso’s sound is pleasing and mellow, allowing for fine dining and conversation, but lively and upbeat enough to encourage dancing and to raise the spirits of their audience, engaging their listeners with humor and positive energy. Musical selections are varied to include music from the 1930’s to the present, and appeal to all ages. Jazz vocalist Linda Flynn established Expresso Jazz in 1999. Beginning her performances with various private parties and municipal shows, she began playing in local restaurant and club Venues in 2000. Expresso performs primarily as a duo or trio but also expands to include saxophone and drums (percussion) , and can also include keyboards and an additional vocalist. Linda also performs with a smooth jazz guitarist doing all original co-written songs, as the group, Melodicappella. Linda has produced several C.D.s, including her original,“Touchstone” and “Raven’s Wing” and the most recent duo C.D., “Expresso on the River”, which includes some favorite performance covers. Linda uses much of her musical proceeds to support various animal rescue and rehab. organizations. Expresso Jazz has performed at a variety of local Venues and for larger Concert Venues. They can be seen at Events such as Concerts for the Port Orange Municipal Library, Halifax Art Festival, Daytona Beach Bandshell Concerts, Port Orange Amphitheater Concerts in the Park, Center Stage Concerts in Palm Coast, and recently Linda co-produced and headlined with Expresso Jazz for “A Patriotic Salute”, a Veteran’s appreciation and fund-raising Event at the DBCC Theater in November of 2007. Expresso has recently performed at Halifax Plantation, Oceanside Country Club, Halifax Yacht Club, Palm Coast Yacht Club and in a variety of fine restaurants and clubs in Volusia and Flagler County. Expresso has also performed extensively for both the Daytona Beach Symphony Society and the LSO, including the first Jazz Escape Jazz Festival in 2006, sponsored by the Daytona Beach Symphony Guild.
