Referred to as "one of the best Klezmer bands in the U.S." by the Washington Post, Machaya is a nationally acclaimed Klezmer and Rock band. Enjoy authentic, moderately-volumed Klezmer Israeli, Swing, Classical and Rock from the 40's to the 2000's. At Weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Concerts, conventions, corporate events and parties, our famous DANCE LEADING gets everyone up and celebrating. At Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, we entertain with unique and exciting games.

The band masters the style, feeling and dynamism of authentic East European Jewish music. The band's versatile musicians carry on an exciting dialogue in that free-style improvisational mode that characterizes true Klezmer music.

Machaya is also regarded as one of Washington's foremost rock bands, combining our versatile core Klezmer ensemble with our outstanding rock vocalists and guitarists.

• Machaya provided a wonderful evening of Klezmer/Yiddish music for our birthday "boy". The 3 bandmates were extremely talented, seemed to be having a good time, and performed as if they were in a hall for 2,000, not just a couple dozen entertained party-goers. The musicians arrived early and stayed late and made eveyone feel welcome. A special shout-out to Vlad who is a supremely talented violinist who has retained a humbleness with a sense of humor.
