DESCRIPTION:
Playing everything from jazz to oldies, Motown, to the music of today. Malcolm Marchman is more than an acclaimed Piano Vocalist; he is a moving and talented musical force. Composer, lyricist, arranger and songwriter, Malcolm infuses his multi-genre performance with his deep love and innate understanding of music. A native Chicagoan, Malcolm frequently performs at venues around his beloved Colorado. Recent gigs include The Denver Museum of Nature and Science and a stint at Plates World Cuisine in Colorado Springs.
Malcolm's musical journey has taken him a variety of inspiring places. From the studio of esteemed Professor Curtis Smith where he studied Classical piano to the streets and venues of New York City where he backed local favorites SPECULATION and NICK and THE KNICK KNACKS(an Italian DooWop and oldies group) He was also the musical director for an Elvis impersonator's band. after taking time off to raise a family, he returned to musical performance, serving a stint as musical director of a Catholic Gospel Choir and also played with the infamous THAT BAND. Most notably, it was with THAT BAND that Malcolm opened for the critically acclaimed LYNARD SKYNARD. Each of these experiences , though vastly different in nature, have defined Malcolm's vibrant solo career.
Playing solo since 2005, Malcolm has enjoyed his newfound freedom on stage and is delighted to have the opportunity and flexibility to utilize his breadth of musical knowledge to create venue specific sets, for you and your guests. Malcolm is pleased to play private parties, corporate events and a blues based set at club gigs and concerts. His debut album, RESUME and his soon to be released HAVE YOU HEARD JOHN HENRY?, are available at CDBABY, WAL-MART AND ITUNES.
