DESCRIPTION:
After playing the 'Jersey' Club circuit as a Lead Vocalist/Bass player for years during the 80's with a few popular bands, most note worthy 'The Nines' & 'The Action'[the Nines were the opening act for 'Joan Jett & the Blackhearts at the 'Hole in the Wall', if anyone remembers that Club], I moved to California to pursue a career in musical theatre.
Both California & it's Musical Theatre scene were very good to me. I was fortunate enough to work with Broadway legend, John Raitte [Bonnie's Dad]& I've performed many leading roles such as Billy Flynn in 'Chicago' and John Adams in '1776'.
After almost two decades in California, it was time to come home. Now that I'm back on the East coast, I'm happier than I've ever been & "Martin's Karaoke" is an extension of that. I'm a Director of Audio/Visual services at a major hotel. This has given me the knowledge & ability to use my equipment efficiently in any situation. My FOH ["front of house"] sound system utilizes a pair of JBL EON 1500 Speakers with an active 12' JBL Subwoofer.
My Behringer PMH-5000 Audio mixer has dual digital effects units built in & is semi-parametric in the equalization section.
I use a combination of Shure & Audio-Technica Wireless & wired microphones.
On stage the singers view song lyrics via a standard 17' monitor & hear cue music and harmonies thru an active Yamaha vocal monitor.
I have two racks, each containing a CAVS karaoke player. So while one person is performing, I'm cueing up the next song selection. From my experience in theatre, I realize the impact that lighting can have on the overall show.
I can light the stage area with basic washes of color & have full fader capability.
I own a few special effect lights that move in conjunction with the music & I have other lighting that I often use as up lights & side fill. Another feature I make available, is the ability to show the audience what the performer is seeing onstage by projecting that image onto a screen. Without compromising quality, I can scale my system down for smaller events or bring the whole nine yards for the larger venues. With all the above to offer your group, please notice how reasonable my rates are for a 4 hour show. Please keep in mind that I will need ample time to set up & remove my equipment.
