DESCRIPTION:
Thomson Kneeland brings 13 years of professional experience to your event, working with some of the best jazz musicians alive today. With a repertoire of over 300 songs, his groups provide music from the songs of Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, and other great instrumentalists to Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Tony Bennett, not to mention Cole Porter, AC Jobim, Joao Gilberto and various Brazilian artists. Thomson has used this vast musical versatility to perform at events for Bank of America, the Rainbow Room, Lincoln Center, Ciprianis, the Boston College Club and countless other high profile companies and venues for the past 13 years. Thomson's professional attitude emphasizes courteousness, looking great (suits or tuxedos), dynamic and flexible volumes to fit your event, and most importantly, incredible music by some of the world's top jazz musicians. Thomson will work with you to select the band configuration and a variety of music that suits the needs of your event, from old time swing to standards to bossa nova, salsa or even klezmer. Choose from duos with doublebass and guitar or piano; piano or guitar trio with drums; or quartet adding trumpet or saxophone, and on occasion, vocals. Or add your own special requests from harmonica, violin, to whatever suits you. Feel free to request an over 300 tune songlist to make repertoire selections, or make your own requests.
Thomson Kneeland has made a name for himself touring internationally and performing in a variety of contexts from jazz festivals, clubs, and concert halls to television, radio and more and recording over 30 albums to date. A smattering of past performances include Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Bard College, Harvard College, the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Toronto Jazz Festival, the Jazz Cruise, and tours of the US, Australia, Europe, Canada, and South America.
