Myra Murphy is a New York native with a Masters from Juilliard School of Music in Classical Music. As both Jazz Pianist and Jazz Vocalist she has performed and recorded with many greats in NYC and has been seen and heard with her group in New York at large events at Lincoln Center Jazz for the New York Philharmonic Fundraiser and other prestigious events in Philharmonic Hall. She has appeared with Jazz greats like Bill Evans, Saxophone, Adam Nussbaum, Drums, Mark Johnson, Bass and Jeff Williams, Drums. In addition, she has appeared at the Parker-Meridien Hotel, events at La Grenouille, concerts at the IBM Center for Arts and Sciences. Her Jazz Vocals have graced the University halls of Rowan University where she was the Vocal Jazz Instructor for four years, and Drexel University. She has been the recipient of a National Endowment of the Arts grant for multi-media concerts.Myra is now listed in Stanford Who's Who. At present, she is the Classical and Jazz Pianist/Vocalist of her Duo with a Classical and Jazz Guitarist and her Trio with Guitar and Upright Bass. With the Duo and Trio she is ableto offer Classical Wedding Ceremonies, Jazz Cocktail Hours, andin addition, the Duo or Trio can fill requests for Singer-Songwriter tunes such as Norah Jones and others. She also performs with her Quartet with Jazz Guitar or Saxophone. The Duo,Trio and Quartet can be all instrumental or with added Jazz Vocals. All great standards of Gershwin, Porter and Kern are played along with Bossa Novas and works of Ellington and other greats.

• The Myra Murphy Jazz Group performed at our annual holiday party this year, and everyone loved it. The group performed three sets of a mix of snappy/poppy holiday jazz and jazz standards.
