DESCRIPTION:
While we are new to Gigmasters, we are old pros at providing professional and inspired music for any occasion. Every event we play is a new experience because the music comes from the heart, with a sensitive awareness of it's function to enrich, not overshadow, your celebration.Trained at the Eastman School of Music, band-leader Ben Gallina has been fortunate enough to meet some of the most creative and exciting jazz musicians on the New York City scene, scene since his move in 2004. While the stand-by Bridge Trio follows the classic piano/bass/drums format, we can completely re-structure the group to fit your desires. Whether that means adding saxophone, trumpet, trombone, male or female vocalist, guitar, or even violin, we look forward to bending over backwards to accommodate your wishes. The group can be as small as solo piano, or as large as a sextet! We can wear suits, tuxes, all black, or just look cool and casual. Give us a try and you won't be disappointed! About the Tunes (performed by Ben, Red, and Brady): 1. Don't Know Why - This tune swept the world in 2002 when Norah Jones made it popular with her breakthrough album "Come Away with Me." We give it a fairly literal rendition here, and this performance exemplifies the uplifting background music we can provide. We can mold our repertoire to include mostly recognizable jazz hits by artists such as Diana Krall, Harry Connick Jr., Frank Sinatra and other jazz/pop crossover artists. 2. How Long Has This Been Going On - A personal favorite from the song crafting duo George and Ira Gershwin. This version is an homage to Ben Webster and Coleman Hawkins. A classic version of a classic tune.
