Black Olive Jazz plays Standards, Swing, Latin and Blues with a Mediterranean flavor. Classic ambiance for your quiet event, or hot dance music for your party or wedding festivities. Duo, Ensemble, Latin or Big Band. Our CD, Black Magic, has received airplay on the jazz station, KCSM, and sells on CD Baby.
Vocalist Kay Andreas (Kostopoulos)is a professional actress who teaches Drama at Stanford University. Kay has MC'd corporate events, auctions, benefits and concerts. She also does poetry and dramatic readings in conjunction with the event by request. Kay sings in English, Spanish, French, Italian and Greek, and plays percussion and finger cymbals.

Black Olive Jazz was a great choice for our New Year's Eve party at Wine Affairs wine bar in San Jose. We have limited space, so they were very accommodating, making sure the volume level was appropriate. The jazz selections were as promised, Ellington, Gershwin, Waller, and the vocals by Kay Andreas were out of this world. This is a jazz lovers dream band. Kay of Black Olive Jazz referred me to a piano player she plays with, Si Perkoff who in turn brought a bass player and a drummer. I wanted older style up beat Jazz and they were perfect. The guests really enjoyed the music. It was mostly mood music til later when several people started to dance and the band caught on and played appropriate music for the dancing. We all really enjoyed them!!
