He lives in Derwood, MD with his wife Maria, co-founder and Managing Director of the same company and a dancer herself, his 1-year old daughter, and 11-year old stepson.
The Jazz Ensemble Raddy & The Cats was born out of musical interactions at Montgomery College, Gizmo Recording Studio and other venues in the metro DC area. Forced to relocate to Maryland due to Katrina, New Orleans native John Raddy Lowery began exploring musical opportunities with his teachers and colleagues. One of the most exciting projects was the recording of his CD Re-Creation which includes tunes he used to play with the Jazz Cats in the Market Caf in New Orleans French Market, as well as well known classic Jazz tunes with new arrangements. The Jazz Ensemble includes well known guests such as: ROBERT REDD on the piano who appears often as a free-lance musician at Blues Alley with numerous local and national artists as well as performing with the Smithsonian Masterworks Ensemble. Bassist VICTOR DVOSKIN who first gained popularity in the former USSR in the early seventies. Jazz critics considered him the number-one bass player of the eighties, earning three stars in the Penguin Guide to Jazz. By 1991, Victor had arrived in Washington, DC as part of the Russian/American Jazz Quartet, Jazznost. DC native Bassist SCOTT GIAMBUSSO who has been playing music in this town since 1968 and continues to thrive on the local party and concert circuit. On Wednesday nights you can find him sitting in the guitar chair in The James Bazen Big Band at Paisano's in Rockville.
The ensemble also includes Joshua Patani on Basds and Kelvin Ikpeni on guitar. More guests Nigerian-born drummer, Tosin Aribisala TEEGROOVE, percussionist LEON E. ALEXANDER , on drums Solomon Ekwukoma, on keyboards ERIC L. OLOUGHLIN, Hope Nwachukwu & George Philip.

We could not have been more pleased with Raddy International. I hired them to play for my friends' wedding reception, and it was an absolute success. The bride and groom were very impressed with how professional and talented the band was. John "Raddy" Lowry proved to be an excellent leader; he was so kind and accommodating with the song selections. His wife Maria made all the arrangements ahead of time, and she was also a joy to work with. Every band member was well-dressed (tuxedos) and it was apparent--by their positive demeanors and whole-hearted performances--that they were NOT just going through the motions, but rather, truly loved their craft. We had initially planned to provide the band with a list of suggested songs, to ensure that the atmosphere was just what we were looking for. Well, we didn't have time to make the list, but that was NO problem. We briefly explained that we wanted classy, energetic background music, and the band perfectly delivered! They were a major focal point, and yet, they were careful not to monopolize attention when the bride and groom were in the spotlight. Everyone agreed they absolutely *MADE* the reception. The Master of Ceremonies commented that he had paid much more for a band at his own wedding reception, and they weren't half as good. Raddy International is worth every penny! Book them and you won't be disappointed. -- satisfied client, Hagerstown, MD

John "Raddy" Lowery entertained us at our Mardi Gras Party. We are an assisted living and nursing home and had about 50-60 seniors at our party. John was very proffesional and gracious. He sang to and with the resident, talked to them and even remembered some of their names. His wife and baby came with him and they were an added treat. We would highly recommend him and hope to have him back.
