"Sassy, sensual, soulful and spectacular…Nina Simone with a little bit of Della and Ella tossed in for color," is how Jazz DJ Carmen Brown of 98.3 WDLT-FM [Mobile, AL] describes the vocals of
Sharon Rae North on her new smooth jazz CD "The Way You Make Me Feel".Producer/Arranger, Vic Smiley's familiarity with North's voice and style resulted in pinpoint accuracy in accommodating what reviewer Nina Goodrich of describes as …"a smooth delivery punctuated with impeccable timing and firm control over the flowing notes." For this project Ohio-born, now Atlanta-based, Sharon Rae North recruited a group of stellar musicians to create a CD that Goodrich predicts "will rate high on the charts, crossing jazz, pop, Soul, R&B and find a home with hip listeners everywhere." Her accompanists include Vic Smiley on guitar; Niles McKinney, keyboardist for the late Gerald Levert; background vocals by Melvin Sephus of The Rude Boys and Jon Roberts on bass. North executive produced the project and wrote or co-wrote all but two of the songs. She delivers a slow, haunting rendition of Three Dog Nights "One", and a jazzy-bluesy, very memorable cover of Donny Hathaway's "We're Still Friends". Singing is North's passion. Perhaps that's why years ago her mother told her, "No matter what you do on the outside you're a singer on the inside." Depending upon the venue, Sharon Rae performs with a full band or whatever suits your needs and your budget. This is a voice you simply don't want to miss.

Sharon's voice was unbelievable and her band was incredible.
Everyone raved about their performance and they made the evening so special for Josh and me. My guests are still talking about the great entertainment. Not only are they all extremely talented but professional and kind. Throughout the planning process Sharon was open to ideas and musical preferences. My husband is a musician and she even allowed him to play with the band at one point which was a big hit with the guest. She listened to us and our wishes and made the event true to our personalities. In 25 years we will be tracking her down for our anniversary celebration!

Sharon and her band were awesome performers. I first met Sharon through her demo on Gigmasters and she blew me away with her talent that I immediately called her and booked her for my special day. Sharon is a hands-on person, she was great to work with it, her talent is truly a gift from God. All of my family asked me where did I find such a great band to play at the wedding, and to this day when I see my wedding guests, out and about in town, they will stop me and comment on how much they loved Sharon and her band. If anyone is looking for a band for any event this is the band to go with. I would definitely book Sharon and her band again for any special event that I plan for the future.

Sharon Rae North and her band are the best! We found them on Gigmasters and contacted her immediately because we were impressed with their talent from the Gigmasters demo. She invited us to a couple of performances around Atlanta. Winfield and I loved them right off and wanted to book them for our wedding reception. They were fantastic! She was professional and organized leading up the event, and she was open to tailor their performance to suit our New Orleans-Style reception. Sharon Rae North preformed at my mother's surprise Birthday party. I was very impressed from her level of professionalism from the very begining. She was very organized and detail oriented.
