DESCRIPTION:
Music for listening and dancing. The New Legacy Jazz Band provides Exciting Swing, Dynamic Rhythm and Elegant Entertainment for special celebrations.The New Legacy Jazz Band is one of America's premier full-time professional ensembles. Based in the Baltimore/Washington area and appearing throughout the mid-Atlantic states, The New Legacy Jazz Band performs at festivals, weddings, Swing dances, corporate galas, fund-raisers, receptions, casinos, colleges and theatres. Available in different sizes and different instrumental combinations, The New Legacy Jazz Band is usually booked for periods of 3, 4 or 5 hours, with the first hour frequently performed by solo piano during cocktails. Sample time-frame: 6 - 7pm, solo piano or piano/bass/light drums during cocktail hour
7 - 10 or 11pm, 5, 6 or 7 piece band for dinner and dancing. Price per musician depends upon the day, date and location of the event. Typical weekend cost for 5 piece band comprised of piano, bass, drums, one horn and female vocalist is $2,000 to $2,500.00 for the contracted period with no additional charges. Sample cost on a Saturday evening for 7 piece band which includes piano, bass, drums, sax, trumpet, trombone or rhythm guitar, and female vocalist: $3,000.00 to $3,500.00 at a rate of $500 per musician. The New Legacy Jazz Band is self-contained and provides our own electronic piano which simulates the sound of an acoustic instrument. The band has no special requirements other than direct access to electricity and armless chairs depending on the size of the group. The band plays approximately 55 minutes to an hour at a time and has a cd player connected to our small sound system so as to provide appropriate background music during breaks (approx. 15 minutes). The New Legacy Jazz Band featuring singer/songwriter Beth McDonald performs in elegant lounges and supper clubs throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Accompanied by members of The New Legacy Jazz Band, Beth appears regularly at Signature's Lounge in the Clubhouse at Baywood Greens in Long Neck, DE, and provides tasteful background and featured entertainment at venues such as The Four Seasons in Georgetown, the Princeton JazzFeast, and many country clubs, historical mansions, and area hotels. Dedicated to the highest standards of artistic elegance and professional excellence, The New Legacy Jazz Band is available in 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 piece combinations to complement any occasion.
