Description

If you love traditional dixieland jazz, this is the place. The Centennial Jazz Band has been playing hot and sweet music for 30 years, the music of Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton, Bix Beiderbecke, Fats Waller, and Eddie Condon are among those featured.
The CJB entertains at jazz clubs, private parties, concerts, weddings, festivals, dances, parades and picnics. We recently concluded a seven-year engagement playing every Saturday night at the French Quarter, a cajun restaurant in Wayne, New Jersey, until the restaurants closing. The band consists of the traditional six pieces - cornet, trombone, clarinet, banjo/guitar, and tuba, and drums, but can include piano to fit the occasion. And vocals are also part of the presentation.
As a reviewer said in the Pennyslvania Jazz Society newsletter, they are 'excellent...don't wait to see them.'

Feedback

  • The Centennial Jazz Band was fantastic! They brought enthusiasm and energy to our project and were the life of the event! On top of it they were calm and accommodating, and played an extra half hour for us free of charge. We would recommend them to everyone, and are huge fans. -- Helena A, Manhattan, NY, 6/3/2010
  • Simply put, the Centennial Jazz band were an integral and crucial part of our wedding, and they were a huge hit. People danced, the music was perfect, and everybody loved them. This is an old style of music, but everybody - young and old alike - were up and dancing to this classic American music. We could not have hoped for a better time, and the guys in the band were great people to have with us for the celebration. I would recommend this band to anyone looking for great dixieland music played the way it is supposed to be played. Mike Lustig -- Mike L, Warrington, PA, 9/24/2011
  • The Centennial Jazz Band did a fabulous job making our Mardi Gras event an outstanding success for our plus 200 attendees. Their selection of music for our dancing seniors was well received and they accomodated our several requests. I would heartily recommend the band for your event as they really got our crowd up on the floor enjoying the various sets. They were on time and played three forty five minutes sets with short breasks. Hire them with my endorsement and that of our membership. It would be tough to not rehire them next year for our next Mardi Gras based on the feedback to date. Bob Stevenson-Ridgewood Hobbyists -- Robert S, Ridgewood, NJ, 2/21/2012
  • We had such a lovely evening. The Centennial Jazz Band communicated very well before the event. They arrived promptly and were set up in no time. Once they began to play, the energy in the room went up a notch. They were accommodating, professional, very kind AND great musicians. They were a great addition to a wonderful evening. Thank you so much! -- Elisa L, New York, NY, 11/14/2009
