Welcome to the site of the #2 ranked swing band and the #8 rated jazz band in all of Gigmasters, which includes many hundreds of entertainers. No band does "the Great American Song Book," including the romantic songs of the '20s through the 90's, like Dan Heath with the Paradise Band. From the great songs of Johnny Mercer to Cole Porter, from song stylists like Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, Elvis, Michael Buble or the Beatles, this band performs with class. Dan Heath with the Paradise Band is a seven-member ensemble ideally suited for high-class weddings, corporate events, festivals and county fairs or class reunions. If your group likes ballroom dancing, Dan Heath with the Paradise Band will perform fox trot, swing, waltz, latin and other dance step tunes for your dancers. All musicians are highly trained and educated with great experiences in music performance. Dan Heath is an extraordinary vocalist who can cover a number of musical genres from Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, the Beatles, Elvis, jazz and pop standards and even Broadway show tunes. He has created two CDs which sold well in the Fort Wayne area and raised thousands of dollars for charity. Some of his recordings were aired at 106.3 FM and also at the local NPR jazz station. (Note: the CD "Somewhere . . ." can be purchased at the Casa restaurant near the intersection of Maplecrest and Stellhorn Roads in Fort Wayne--all proceeds go to Camp Whatcha-Wanna-Do, a camp for children surviving cancer.) In 2006 Heath was selected as a semi-finalist to compete against some of the best vocalists in America and the world at the Savannah Music Festival's American Traditions Competition. Steve Walley is a well-known pianist and arranger in the Fort Wayne area with a Master's Degree in music. The guitarist is Robert Ferguson who also has his Master's Degree in music. Robert has been a Fort Wayne area guitar instructor for decades. Robert is a classical guitarist by training but is able to cover many genres of music from classical to jazz and rock. Terry Vaughn supports the very fine rhythm section of the ensemble as one of the very finest drummers in the midwest. Brad Kuhns, a bassist with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, also adds his great talent of the band. The sixth position with the band, the clarinet or sax position, is filled in by a number of fine players including David Blackwell, a fabulous sax/clarinet player who holds his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Music Education from IU, Bloomington or Jeff Blackburn, also a very fine sax and clarinet player. The final, seventh position of the ensemble, the trumpet position, is filled by local trumpet greats Dave Sapp or Dr. Matt Murdock, who also play in the New Millennium Jazz Orchestra. Dan Heath and the Paradise Band performed for the Inaugural Auburn 'Concours d'Elegance' at the Kruse WWII Museum 'Meadows' as a part of the huge Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival(Sept.4, 2005)and for many subsequent events for Kruse International. Dan Heath with the Paradise Band has also performed at many Fort Wayne area festivals including Canal Days, Hoagland Days, the 3 Rivers Festival and the Delphos, Ohio Rotary Summer Concert Series, Columbia City's Old Settler's Days, and the New Bremen, Ohio, Parks Department Summer Concert Series. In July of 2007 the band was one of only six area bands asked to be a part of the prestigious Honeywell Center's "Sizzlin' Summer Concert Series." In July of 2006 the band performed as a part of Club Soda's "Rat Pack Series" which was sponsored by the Downtown Improvement District (DID) of Fort Wayne. The band also performs for many area retirement parties, weddings and events at the Fort Wayne Summit Club and the Fort Wayne Marriott. The summer of '07 will take the band into festivals in Ohio and Michigan. Dan Heath with the Paradise Band is the band for you!

Dan Heath did a wonderful job at our wedding reception. Everyone commented how much they enjoyed the music and the dance floor was packed, which surprised me because we had an earlier wedding. We had Dan Heath with the Paradise Band perform at our wedding reception. The night was wonderful. There were people on the dance floor throughout the evening and everyone had a wonderful time. The keyboardist provided the music at the ceremony and all of our guests were delighted with his work. We would highly recommend this band. They are talented, courteous, and skilled with a crowd. We communicated entirely through e-mail and were, nevertheless, able to coordinate a wonderful wedding. We asked them to perform songs to which we could dance cha-chas, rumbas, swing, and blues, all of which they provided, even when they had to learn a song especially for our event. Their style of 1940's through 1970's jazz, swings, and crooner songs were perfect for our needs. Dan Heath with The Paradise Band was just the right touch of class we needed.

From our first contact with Dan Heath through Gigmasters until our last contact with him and his band the day of our daughter's wedding, he was absolutely fabulous. I was very happy with our decision to hire Dan Heath With The Paradise Band for our wedding. With over 300 guests, we thought it would be hard to find a band that would play music enjoyed by everyone. Dan Heath With The Paradise Band proved us wrong, and weeks after our wedding, we still have friends and family commenting on the wonderful sound and atmosphere the band created. They were also very accomodating to our personal requests. They asked us weeks prior to the wedding if there were any special songs they could learn specifically for our wedding.
