The Atlantic Clarion Steel band, a Maine-based group, has been performing for over 30 years. This is a modern steelband, with instruments gleaming and tuned to an astonishing degree of clarity, playing an amazing range of music from concert classics to pop, from swinging jazz to jumping calypso and soca: a chamber ensemble and a party band all in one. The versatility of the pans can be appreciated through the polished arrangements which show the variety of sound and tonal quality of the instruments and the high level of musicianship of the players.
