One of the most dynamic jazz bands to come out of Chattanooga, TN, Nashville-based Scenic City Jazz Band brings the hip soundscape of Chicago and New York City to the Tennessee River Valley. Throughout Tennessee and Georgia, Scenic City Jazz Band is known for their high-energy concerts as well as their mood-setting music for restaurants, weddings, and special events.

The saxophone-led jazz quartet explores the rhythms of swing, straight-ahead jazz, Latin, and funk music from the Big Band Era to the present. The band's versatility allows it to transition from romantic jazz ballads during dinner to danceable swing and soulful blues and funk tunes for the after-party.

Scenic City Jazz Band has performed at such venues as the Walden Club, the Delta Queen Hotel, the Southern Belle Riverboat, the Hunter Museum of American Art, the Chattanoogan Hotel, the Tennessee Aquarium, Tennessee RiverPlace, and the Chattanooga Convention Center.

After starting the band in 2009 in Chattanooga, co-founders Chuck Mullican (tenor sax), Bill Alexson (piano), and Luke Bowers (drums) now live in Knoxville or Nashville most of the year. As a result, the band has grown to depend on top-notch guest musicians from those two cities who perform with or substitute for the three founding members. The original trio enjoys getting to play together whenever it can and appreciates the hard work of guest musicians who allow Scenic City Jazz Band to bring its trademark sound to a wider audience.
