Description

Phil has played with such diverse talents as Donovan, Freddy Fender, Little Anthony, The Shirelles, The Crystals, Bo Diddley, Bellevue Cadillac, Chandler Travis, and Junior Walker

His current show features blues, boogie and stride piano songs in a prohibition-era style, with witty, modern day lyrics.

In the early 20th century during the days of prohibition, piano men ruled the Harlem music scene. James P. Johnson, Fats Waller, and Willie "The Lion" Smith were among the great virtuosos who held court in that thriving musical landscape of nightclubs, speakeasies, and rent parties.

Phil DeVille brings back those jumping days. He sings and plays his original compositions giving a nod to that bygone age, but adding modern twists. Sprinkled throughout his performances are hit songs of the prohibition era that kept revelers hopping 'til dawn.

In our jaded modern age it's refreshing to revisit a time when musicians played their tails off, truly entertained, and drew an audience's attention without having to drown out their conversations. Why not have a cocktail, and sit back and relax with Phil DeVille?
