Additionally, on November 5th at the Sonora Fairgrounds in Sonora, CA, The Jazz Generation will perform "Let Us Shine" at the tree cutting celebration "Our Gifts from under the Tree."

They have written, produced and performed in their own original shows, including "Great Women of Jazz, 1890 to 1990" (named one of the best shows to see by the Sacramento Bee and recipient of a 3 page, glowing review by te Sacramento Observer. Publicity re their March, 2010 show, "I Believe I Can Fly," featuring a 112 year old woman, reachd more than 10 million people throughout California, across the nation and around the world.

Suzanne Brooks has been honored by the City of Sacramento and Metropolitan Arts Commission for "Lifetime Achievement in the Arts and Arts Advocacy. The group has appeared on local and regional commercial and cable television programs with distinction. This is a testament to their exceptional talents and creativity, as they can perform anything from jazz, gospel, R&B and Latin to Hawaiian, folk, countyr, world, Broadway--covers and originals. The extraordinary musicians can play virtually any written music. Female and male vocal solos and duets range from very fast, uptempo vocaleses and scatting to swing to romantic ballads, reminiscent of singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Nancy Wilson, Nora Jones, Shirley Horn, Blossom Dearie, Annie Ross, among women and Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Jon Hendricks and Dave Lambert. Fenake vocals can be in English, Spanish, French, Latin and Hawaiian. This is also one of the only acts with such depth of repertoire with new songs arriving from contemporary composers asking to have theri songs added to The Jass Generation repertoire.

The Band's size and instrumentation can be modified to perfectly match your entertainment needs, with one or two vocalists and up to five musicians on keyboard, bass, drums, sax and guitar. Established in 2003, The Jazz Generation has an established fan base, a Grammys submission this year, and a reputation for outstanding music, concert lectures, artist-in residence, and original musical shows. This incredible background makes it possible to make every event truly special.
